As part of their ongoing dialogue on the prospects of the Blue Economy, Debmarine Namibia is committed to providing key stakeholders with regular business updates on the company’s achievements, challenges and future prospects. In line with this objective, Debmarine Namibia hosted an environmental stakeholder breakfast on 25 July 2019 at the Avani Windhoek. dB Audio Namibia provided Sindana Communications with technical support for the event which included a custom set, inspired by Debmarine’s operational vessels.

The Ohlthaver & List Group of Companies started the countdown towards their milestone centenary celebrations on 21 October 2020 with a special media editors’ breakfast on 12 July 2019 to recognise and appreciate the media for the role they play (and have played over the past 100 years) in telling the O&L story. The Sindana Communications team used a superb juxtaposed theme, combining vintage with ultra-modern, at the Avani Windhoek’s Stratos Ballroom to tell the story of O&L over the past 100 years. At this occasion Hermien Elago, Motivational Speaker and Blogger contributed to the overall theme with the presentation on “Nothing is Impossible”.

The retirement of O&L CEO Peter Gruettemeyer was celebrated in a funky pub style - Peters Pension Pop up Pub - in June 2019 when Peter decided to embrace a new journey.
The pub was filled with numerous sayings ranging from .. Retired – don’t want to, don’t need to, can’t make me; to I hope you know it sucks to see you go, and Retired – Goodbye Tension, hello pension! Within a light hearted rustic vintage theme the new Broll Namibia Managing Director Terence Makari was welcomed aboard the Broll Namibia team while at the same time tribute was paid to the outgoing MD, Marco Wenk .
It was a night filled with laughter around a bon fire while watching the sunset on the Windhoek skyline, followed by a typical Namibian braai!

In pursuit of its purpose: “Creating a future, enhancing life”, the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group together with its subsidiary, Broll Namibia, proudly celebrated the official opening of the brand new phase of Wernhil Park on 04 June 2019, officiated by the President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr. Hage Geingob. Incidentally - the President also opened the first phase of Wernhil Park, 29 years ago, in his capacity as Prime Minister.

During the historic event the new logo of Wernhil – The Pulse of the City - was revealed with over 250 invited guests in attendance – all seated in a huge Marquee tent on the top parking level of the new wing. The setup of this event took almost a week to complete as we needed to adhere to all building and safety regulations – but indeed a milestone in all regards!

The treasured O&L Trains were refurbished to create more memorable glamping experiences! To celebrate this extraordinary event the O&L Executive Management Team and selected Media partners were invited for an All Aboard experience in April 2019.

The O&L Leisure Staff Conductors received the guests, issued them with train tickets which indicated in which carriage they would spend their unforgettable night. Once guests checked in, they were issued with beautiful handcrafted wicker baskets specially made by the Society for the Blind for this event and filled with all the organic and self-made preserves from Midgard to enjoy - picnic style!
Guests then explored the 3 carriages over a cold beer in true Namibian style while the scene was set with background music for a party under the starry skies!

The three (3) carriages were each refurbished according to their own theme, which included Vintage – designed to capture the romantic experience of historic train rides. The Graphic themed carriage aims to play on the connotation of graffiti art on trains. The Crisp carriage is a simple, clean and modern style appealing to a broad demographic. This design style is friendly and approachable.

The gorgeous Roux-che Locke acted as hostess of the evening, and for the official part, 3 Chief Conductors cut the ribbon to officially open Vintage, Graphic and Crisp for a new journey! And no party is complete without cake and the baked cakes were replicas of the carriages to be enjoyed after the Namibian braai served up by the Midgard team with a great mug of boeretroos! The evening was rounded off with loads of dancing around the fire pit.

Each year FNB celebrates the top achievers amongst the Estate Agents in the Namibian market as part of the FNB Realtors Club Awards Evening!
A night in the beautiful paradise of Mauritius was created to award the best of the best in the market for their dedication and excellent achievements!
Island style cocktails set the casual and relaxed scene for the evening whilst all guests arrived in their beautiful island style clothing. First up was the formal part of the awards evening and the programme was led by MC Mayumbula Michael Chikwililwa. Then it was time to celebrate in true island style with awesome Mauritian food, cocktails, and lots of dancing!

To conclude the OLD MUTUAL SA Incentive winners trip to Namibia, a night of celebration under the Namibian Stars was the desire of the client for this event in April 2019.
All the guests were requested to wear either black or white for the final evening and a dash of colour was provided to zoosh up their attire!
Guests received African printed pieces of cloth and Namibian ladies creatively supported them to turn the pieces of cloth into designer apparel!
The destination was also kept a secret, and the surprise was complete when they arrived at the magical Droombos.
Pre-dinner drinks were served in the Camelthon garden, while traditional kapana & vetkoekies were available as well as our most loved local beers and gin!
In true Namibian style, the evening was rounded off with lots of dancing and a traditional braai!

An exquisite garden set up, complete with unlimited fresh apples, quaint collectables and sips of Strongbow – This is what the Strongbow Golden Moments experience was about in March 2019 for a few selected trendsetters. To kick start the festivities, guests were welcomed to the 99FM Studios for a pre-party featuring delectable snacks, a painting session for some creative fun and Strongbow apple cider.
Appropriately dressed in their finest “rooftop chic”, guests mingled and posed for photos – all while staying refreshed with Strongbow flavours including Gold Apple, Original Dry and Red Berries. Guests were later whisked off to a secret location, with the party officially kicking off when the formidable DJ Alba and Sammy-Lee Jones hit the decks. With the Windhoek sun setting beautifully over the swanky rooftop venue, partygoers danced into the night and ended the exciting day filled with new memories and .

UEFA HEINEKEN TROPHY TOUR 2019 - a year in review.
7 March 2019 was a day for many Namibian football fans to remember when Former Manchester United defender, UEFA Champions League winner and Heineken brand ambassador, Nemanja Vidic paid Namibia a visit - made possible by Namibia Breweries Limited. The occasion took place at the Windhoek Country Club Resort where memorabilia on display included signed football T-Shirts and kits from various football legends. Vidić entered the venue with the 2018 UEFA Champions League Trophy and received a warm Namibian welcome. The trophy is a huge aspiration for footballers and fans alike and being close to it in Namibia was made possible by NBL.
