Yes, you read that right – we have an Oryx! Meet Nicki, our elegant and graceful new addition, representing Namibia’s incredible wildlife.

🐑 Oreo the Lamb
Our little black-and-white bundle of joy, Oreo, is here to steal hearts. Come by and meet the cuddliest member of the farm!

Meet the Majestic Golden Pheasant!

Native to the mountainous forests of Western China, these stunning birds are a true marvel of nature.

Quick Facts:

Size: Males can grow up to 105 cm, including their long, elegant tail feathers, while females are smaller at around 70 cm.

Diet: They’re omnivores, enjoying grains, seeds, berries, leaves, and insects.

Habitat: They thrive in dense conifer and broadleaf forests, preferring areas with sparse undergrowth.

Behaviour: Skilled ground feeders, Golden Pheasants run rather than fly when startled, and even have the surprising ability to swim if needed!

Did You Know?

* In China, they’re symbols of good luck, prosperity, and great fortune.
* Female pheasants (hens) use a fascinating defense: they squat and freeze, blending into their surroundings to avoid predators.
* Males lose their bright colours after the breeding season, transitioning to more subdued feathers until the next season.
* Whether admired for their meat, eggs, plumage, or their beauty, * Golden Pheasants remain a beloved addition to farms and aviaries worldwide!
