Their contributions are invaluable, and it’s often the small moments that leave the greatest impact—like tonight, during our reflection on the year, when one of you shared how being employed here made you feel part of a team for the first time in your life. You feel you belong, after feeling like an outsider for so long.

Thank you for your hard work, unwavering dedication, and passion. You teach us so much about life every single day, and we are endlessly grateful for each of you.

From Our Family to Yours: A Heartfelt Thank You

Blikbeker started as a hobby many years ago. It's only after Beaux's birth that the dream was born to create opportunities for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Little did we know the challenges that awaited us in the hospitality industry. Yet here we are, humbled and grateful, still standing strong.

Beaux recently turned 9, and as we reflect on this journey, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. Over time, Ivan became more involved in the daily operations alongside Nakut, and while Blikbeker will always feel like my baby, I am blessed to now live out my passions every day. I have the honor of serving as the National Director of Special Olympics Namibia and overseeing education programs at Side by Side, all while staying deeply connected to disability advocacy.

As a family, this journey has exceeded every hope and expectation we ever had. Being able to support our son with Down syndrome means the world to us. Yes, it’s long hours, weekends, and constant pressure. But it’s also joy, growth, and the beautiful bond of family.

To each and every client who supports Blikbeker, who believes in our vision, and who makes our dreams a reality: thank you. You are the reason we can keep pushing forward, and your support inspires us every day.

Janko is so passionate about food and even just listing to his plans makes your mouth water.

Janko has been part of our team for just over a year now and works under the guidance of chef Diani van Zyl.

We are proud of his achievements and happy to have him on our team.

He is a true testimony of resilience and how passion can fuel purpose.

Janko may your career have many more highlights and may you continue to grow and learn as a chef.

Current we employ 8 young adults with Intellectual Impairment or Development Delays.

Chef Janko Moltzhan is a true inspiration and a testament to resilience and determination. Starting his culinary journey with us at The Purple Fig Cooking School, Janko faced learning disabilities but never let them hold him back. Through hard work and dedication, he graduated with honours from our 3-year Culinary Arts course.

Today, he proudly wears the Chain de Rotisseur, a symbol of his extraordinary talent and passion for the culinary arts. Now working as a chef at Blikbeker Catering, Janko continues to make us proud as he shines in his career. Let’s celebrate this rising star and his incredible journey! ✨

Early morning orders make sure we are up early and get the most out of our day! We love the freshness of the new day, the cooler air and just the vibe that comes with getting things done!

I've always been more of a midnight person, but I dare you to stay with Ivan who gets up at 4am and then serves coffee... Over the years my workload and coffee bearing husband taught me the pleasures of getting up early! And this morning when we had loads done before 8AM, I know why I got to like mornings ..

I can recommend it - mornings are the best, but early morning beats them all!
