We met on the streets of DURUMI
We became friends,
I became his client,
And he became my barber.
We met in the store at FAXX
We became colleagues,
I became his subordinate,
And became my superior.
We met at the VOTING GROUND
We knew ourselves,
We were compatriots,
We wanted the same thing.
We stood shoulder to shoulder,
When the sun scorched, we stood,
When the wind dazed, we stood,
When the rains spattered, we stood.
We wanted a better country,
Free and safe & streets,
Electricity & Quality Education
We just wanted a better Nigeria and a Better
But has been taken away,
His life stolen from him
Our friend, snatched from us,
And he will never dream again.
O’Charlie! You were larger than life,
Stronger than pain, a Conqueror.
Its 367 days and Counting,
And it still feels like yesterday.
Rest-on CHARLIE, You will never be forgotten.
