Dear 2025 Brides, let's talk! Before you start planning your dream wedding, read this. You’ll thank me later! 👇🏾💍

1. Be Honest About Your Budget—and Stick to It:Weddings in Nigeria can be expensive, and it’s easy to overspend trying to impress. Be clear about what you can afford. Don’t plan a ₦20 million wedding with a ₦5 million budget.

2. Hire a wedding planner
Your sister’s friend who planned her birthday party isn’t qualified—book a professional event/wedding planner abeg.

3. Have a Guest List—and Be Ready to Enforce It: In Nigeria, it’s common for uninvited guests to show up. Work with your planner on this.

4. Family drama is real: Whether it’s an aunt who feels sidelined or parents disagreeing over reception venues, family dynamics can shake your plans. Address such matters early.

5. Pay Vendors in Milestones, Not in Full:
Use contracts and pay in agreed phases. If possible, allow your event planner to coordinate and supervise payments and deliverables.

6. Pre-wedding shoots are not just for vibes: In 2025, content creation is a big deal; so, plan your sessions with intention. Plus, you’ll have beautiful memories to look back on.

7. Do your makeup and hair trial ahead
Don’t be the bride crying because her makeup made her look like a stranger.

8. Embrace “Nigerian Time”—Then Plan Against It: The average Nigerian wedding hardly ever starts on time. Anticipate delays and plan buffers into your timeline.

9. Delegate: You’re the bride, not the DJ’s assistant. Don’t be the bride calling the caterer while your gele is being tied. Allow your planner & his/her team to coordinate and handle vendor follow-ups etc

10. Soak it in: Breathe. Smile. Dance. It’s your day. Enjoy every second!
