Swiss roll
Ingredients
3/4 cup cake flour
5 eggs (separated )
1/2 cup white sugar
3 Tbsp vegetable oil
3 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 tsp salt
*All ingredients should be at room temperature
Instructions
1. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites.
2. In a large bowl add the egg whites and mix on low speed . Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar. Leave the other 1/4 cup for later .
Mix until a thick white consistency is formed.
3. In another bowl add the egg yolks , vanilla, milk oil and the remaining 1/4 cup white sugar. Mix well .
4. Sift in flour , baking powder and salt (to the egg yolk mixture) . Mix gently then gradually add the egg white mixture. Donβt all it all at once . Do it in 3 batches .
5. Line the baking tray with parchment paper. Pour mixture (batter) .
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 Degrees Celsius for 25-30 minutes or until well baked.
7. Once well baker let it cool for 5 minutes whilst in the baking tray . Then remove from the baking tray to cook off completely.
8. Take a knife and cut off the edges . Spread whipped cream or jam . Gently and carefully roll the cake sponge .
Take parchment paper then wrap it up . Keep in the fridge for at least one hour .
