Three years after the accession of every Oba of Benin he formally invest his mother with the title of IY’-OBA (Queen Mother) and sends her to reside at lower Uselu in Egua Iy’-Oba (the Queens mother’s courts). This was first done by Oba Esigie in 1506 A.D. and his Idia was the first holder of the title.

He released his debut album, Light EP, in the fourth quarter of 2020 as a follow-up to his viral song “Ponmo,” which featured Naira Marley and Lil Kesh. MohBad was nominated 5 times for The Beatz Awards 2021.

He was listed in Audiomack’s top 21 afrobeat artists of 2021. In 2022, he released Peace produced by Rexxie. He peaked TurnTable charts top 50 in 2021 and top 100 in 2022.

NDLEA arrest

In February 2022, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Mohbad, Zinoleesky and four other people following their possession of illegal substances like M**A and cannabis at their home in Lekki, Lagos.

Some Viral videos on social media showed NDLEA operatives breaking into the musicians’ home in the Lekki district of Lagos State in the early hours of Thursday morning. According to witnesses, the officials carried out the arrest without any search warrants and mistreated the Marlian singers. The NDLEA officers were seen hitting the musician with clubs and shooting into the air, forcing them into waiting trucks.

NDLEA confirmed the raid, “our men raided an area in Idado estate where Naira Marley’s boys stay.” Quantities of cannabis and molly were recovered from their apartment and car,” he told TheCable Lifestyle. Later, the NDLEA released Mohbad, Zinoleesky and 4 other and three others.

Domestic violence allegation against Naira Marley

After two years, he announced his departure from Marlian Records. On 5 October 2022, Mohbad accused singer Naira Marley of domestic violence and stated that his former boss ordered people to beat him up. When he confronted Marley about his decision to employ a different manager to handle his music and business affairs.

Oduduwa is a prominent figure in Yoruba mythology and history. He is regarded as the first Ooni, which means king, of Ile-Ife, a city in southwestern Nigeria. Oduduwa is also referred to as "Olofin," a title which signifies his high status in Yoruba society.

According to Yoruba tradition, Oduduwa was the progenitor of the Yoruba people and the founder of their civilization. He is believed to have descended from the sky on a chain, accompanied by a rooster and a pigeon. Oduduwa is said to have had several children, who went on to become the rulers of different Yoruba kingdoms.

Oduduwa's name is written in the Yoruba language as "Odùduwà," but it is sometimes contracted to "Ooduwa," "Odudua," or "Oòdua." He is revered by the Yoruba people as a great leader and a divine ancestor. After his death, he was deified and incorporated into the Yoruba pantheon as an aspect of a primordial divinity of the same name.

Oduduwa's legacy is still celebrated in Yoruba culture today. He is considered the progenitor of the Yoruba race and the source of their cultural and spiritual identity. The Ooni of Ife, who is regarded as the spiritual leader of the Yoruba people, is believed to be a direct descendant of Oduduwa.
