I know teachers who taught me so excellently way back that I have reached out to in gratitude, there are so many others that I am yet to find.

The reward of teachers is in heaven is a maxim that I have always cautioned people about.
Good teachers await great rewards in heaven but even here they deserve commensurate acts of gratitude from those they have taught years back.

We don't have to be beggars about it ,but it would have made a great difference in the economy of many a teacher especially in this peculiar times and beyond. I am not pushing any sense of entitlement but I am sure many would have willingly extended help as gratitude to their teachers before, during and beyond this lockdown.

I was facilitating a financial literacy program at a very popular and great school in Ayetoro years back ,the principal came to observe and enjoyed the sessions. He lamented ,that he would have loved to start a business of his own but he has nobody to help, so I asked him whether he maintained contacts with the students he had taught for over 30 years.
He threw up his hands in the air, indicating no network of such mentees.

I told him that as teachers we should have the largest networks of influence may be only next to pastors if we had done it right in the classroom with our pupils and students.

Just as you have people you owe gratitude ,so many people also owe you gratitude.
