So year 2016 when I was seriously searching for a job, my neighbor then referred me to a small factory that makes pot. I had shared this with my daughter.
So, at the factory, they were in need of cleaners who would clean their product after production, bag it and then finally load inside the trucks.
I was desperately in need of money. So even as a graduate of Computer and Engineering, I had no choice than to take up the job.
I was told i would be paid 23k monthly. A Monday to Saturday job. Owned by a Ghanian that I never saw from my first day and not until after 4 months.
All he does was visit once in a while and then call his brother who was in charge and then everything was going fine.
Pot production is a product that has much demand, hence the production increased and there were rumors that they would recruitment more workers.
So, finally the Ghanian man visited the factory which was my first time of seeing him. He was with us all day and in the evening, when we had cleaned the pots, bagged them, arranged and ready to load the trucks.
He came around checking the pots and pointed to few of the pots not properly tied.
So he asked, βhow many do we have here, Count count count themβ
As usually, one of us started counting.
So where I was standing, I said, β250 set of pots sirβ! That was less than 30 seconds.
He turned his face where he stood and asked β250β?
I said βYes sir, 250 set of potsβ
He asked how I was able to count in the shortest possible time.
Other cleaners are not surprised as I have been doing that. So they were smiling.
He asked, βWhatβs your name?β
I answered, βAkeju sirβ
He asked me to come close. I did. He said he was interested to know how I was able to count them.
I said, β sir, itβs a rule of βrowβ and βcolumnβ. Which I had already taught my colleagues to always arrange in the manner.β
He said fantastic. One of the cleaners said, Sir he is a graduate.
He asked what i studied and I said computer science.
He told me to see him after loading the trucks.
Because I was looking so dirty and in my cleaner wear, I cleaned up in order not to stain his office.
I walked in and he said, βWhen you are coming tomorrow, bring your application letter for the post of a Supervisorβ
I didnβt even know what to say or do. Either to kneel or to prostrate.
My cleaner colleagues were waiting outside to hear what he wanted to tell me.
When I came out, they were all asking. I told them to wait till tomorrow as I donβt know yet.
That night was one of the longest night I have ever had.
I got there the following day and tendered my application letter which he didnβt even checked. Poor me, that had written all the correct grammar with no mistake with fine handwriting.
I was given an office, a laptop, a phone, a pickup vehicle for my personal movement, and a salary of 90k net.β This is what education can do!
From Akeju, my cleaner colleagues started calling me βOga Akejuβ
Pls, try all in your capacity to train your children. Let them know that education is the key to success. That It is the passport to the future. It is the leverage that makes one stand tall among peers. It makes one an opportunist In a tiniest chance.
Though it may take long for opportunities to come but eventually, it will come and then it pays. Thatβs why I tell young people not to listen to anyone who says education is a scam.
If you have any who do not have interest or living the life that may mar his or her future. Pls donβt give up. You would be doing such child the greatest favour he or she can receive.
I saw one of my cleaner colleagues today and he told me he still works in this factory as a cleaner. I was touched! β I left the factory a long time ago to work in a commercial bank.
There is no greater General than an educated man. An educated person is bigger than a Marshalβ tell this to everyone, especially to aspiring young people.

Well As a baker/Chef there are some things we do or commonice while working or handling food and that's why I want to talk on .....
*PERSONAL HYGIENE...
This is the cleanliness of the body. A hygienic appearance is shown by cleanliness of the hair, hands, face clothing and shoes.
Good personal hygiene help prevent food borne diseases, it prevents food contamination and food poison. As a chef/baker the following points must be practiced...
**** Shower or bath at least 2times daily.
**** Wear clean clothes and kitchen wear.
**** Do not work when suffering from a communicable diseases.
**** Foods once ready for serving must be handled as little as possible
**** Wash hands before and during work and after using the restroom.
****Keep hair clean and covered while working in the kitchen.
****Keep fingernails clean and short.
****Do not chew gum while handling food.
****And wear gloves if you want to keep nails polished.
****Avoid touching eyes,nose and mouth with hands while preparing, handling and during food service.
****Do not cough or sneeze over food, wear a face mask and also have a tissue handy.
****Always remove your rings, earrings, jewelry or watches while working on food as I've had experience of earring cooked alongside the food.
****Observe the NO SMOKING. rule in the food areas.
****Always taste the food using a testing spoon (Get a glass and fill it it with clean water, add salt to it place all the spoons for tasting inside )
****Do not sit on the working surfaces.
****Have at least 4 kitchen towels
****Always put on the safety kitchen footwear making sure it's clean and safe.
****Always put on your kitchen headgear, while working in the kitchen and it should not be tight around the head.
****Cuts,open wounds,Burns and scalds must be covered with blue waterproof dressings.
****Persons suffering from diarrhea,sore throat, vomiting or catarrh must not be allowed to handle good.

Amd my dog gave birth to 5 healthy puppies....but do you know the amazing things about my dog.....?
I will share it with you....
I use to fast and pray for the dog, the dog almost died of stunted growth and poor forearm development, everyone gave up on the dog but I trusted God's healing on the π and it paid off..... That weak and fragile and sickly π... is now weaning her puppies......and even beating all the dogs that used to intimidate and bully her in the neighborhood.

RECIPE...
SHORT PASTRY....300g
Flour........,............300g
Margerine.......... 150g
Salt.................,....1/2tsp
Cold water.......... Half cup/125ml
FILLINGS....
Flaked fish.... #500
Onions.(diced)... #50
Potatoes (Diced and cooked). #.100
Curry....1tsp
Thyme.....1tsp
Pepper........1tsp
Knorr........2cubes
*Carrot... #100
Veg.Oil.......2tbsp
METHODS
1.... Sieve the flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
2... Rub in the Margerine using your finger tips to get a breadcrumb texture.
3... Add the cold water sparingly and mix gently.
4... Mold into a ball and leave to rest for 1hr.
5...Fry the onions with 2 tablespoon of veg. Oil or 25g of Margerine for few seconds.
6...Add the Fish and seasonings,. Stir very well.
7...Add the potatoes and carrots and any other vegetables used and stir well.
8... Correct the seasoning by adding more spices and knorr.
9... Dissolve the flour or cornflour in the stock until smooth.
10...Add it to the sauce ,this will bind all the ingredients together.
11...Once done,pour it out and leave it to cool down.
12...Cut out the pastry to the desired size for this we used 50g and we got 11 pieces.
13...Knead it flat and circular to about 1/4inch thickness.
14...Brush the edges with egg .
15...Put a spoonful in the center and fold the edges together.
16...Place on a greased baking tray and Brush the top with egg .
17...Bake in a preheated oven of about 180oC to 200oC for 45mins or until done.
NOTE...
** This Method can also be used for MEATPIE and CHICKEN PIE
** CORNFLOUR can be used in place of flour.

SAFETY TIPS
1.. Always switch off your gas cylinder when not in use.
2.. Do not use or answer your phone while working in the kitchen near the gas cooker.
3.. Do not shake your cylinder while cooking to know if there's still gas inside.
4.. Do not on the burner/Oven before striking the matches.
5.. Always strike the matches first then you turn on the burner/Oven .
6.. Always keep the floor of the kitchen dry to prevent slipping accident.
7.. Floors should be in good repair and free from obstacles/obstruction.
8.. When using knife , avoid distraction,carry with the point down and lay it flat on the table and don't leave them in the sink to prevent injury.
9.. Switch off and unplug your mixer and Never put your hand into the bowl of electric mixer or cutter until it stopped working.
10.. Only use dry gloves or napkins on hot equipments.
11.. Lift heavy items correctly to prevent back injury.
12... Avoid excessive haste in the kitchen.

PEANUT BURGER RECIPE 1....Groundnut =1 Derica cup 2....Flour...250g/ 2Cups 3....Eggs....3medium sizes 4.....Salt....1/2 Tsp 5....Sugar...3 Tbsp 6....Baking powder...1Tsp 7....Essence.....1tsp (Liquid)/powdered flavour 1tbsp 8...Nutmeg.... 1/2tsp 1...Pick the groundnuts to remove stones and spoilt ones. 2...Soak the groundnuts in very hot salty water and let infuse for about 30mins. 3...Strain it on a colander and spread to dry out for about 1 hour. 4...Break the eggs in a bowl and add the sugar and mix together till blended. 5...Sieve the flour in a bowl and add the salt, baking powder,powdered flavor and Nutmeg to it. 6...Pour the groundnut into a large bowl. 7...Pour a tablespoon of the egg mixture on the groundnut and shake the bowl very well to mix it. 8...Sprinkle 2Tbsp of flour on the groundnut and shake in a circular motion. 9...Repeat the egg and flour process by shaking it vigorously in the same pattern,till the groundnut is well coated with the flour and smooth. 10...Fry in deep oil over low heat till golden brown..drain on a colander. 11...Once cool pack in airtight containers or sealed nylon... NB....1..Powdered flavour should be added to the flour, while liquid flavour should be added to the egg mixture. 2...Only use the shaking method of mixing this will make the peanuts to be smooth. 3...When the peanuts sticks together, sprinkle flour on it to separate them from each other........ Use as desired.... You can package for sale for as low as 50 naira or as you desire.
