Popular Nigerian musician, Temitope Adekunle, famously known as Small Doctor, has been granted bail by a magistrate court in Ebute Meta, Lagos.

It was learnt that the bail accompanied a strong warning that the artiste should not engage in any violent act for the next one year.

The court was said to have ruled in favour of ‘Small Doctor’, because he had licence to move with a gun.

Speaking shortly after his release, the singer, who has been off his social media pages since his arrest, took to his Instagram page to thank Nigerians and his fans for their support while he was in police custody.

The Penalty crooner wrote: “Believe In GOD, All power belongs to God.

“Thank you all for the LOVE and Positive Vibe.Omo Better is doing great. This Sun Dec 9th Agege Stadium.”

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Small Doctor, alongside three others, were arrested by the Police on Monday at Oshodi for being in possession of a firearm and harassing a Police officer with a gun.

Meanwhile, the musician was among a group of popular Nigerian entertainers appointed Ambassadors to the Nigeria Police Force earlier this year.

The group, including Omoni Oboli, Odunlade Adekola, Sound Sultan, Dr Sid, Korede Bello and Ruggedman, were seen in Police uniforms posing with Officer Dolapo Badmos.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday broke silence on reports of President Muhammadu Buhari being dead and replaced as Jubril in A*o Rock.

Osinbajo expressed shock at a National Consultative Forum organised by the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG) in collaboration with Council for New Nigeria Initiative, NAN reports.

Osinbajo wondered how a certain Jibril from Sudan would be presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

He said that the fear of Buhari was making some detractors lose their senses.

According to the vice president, the present government is earning 60 per cent less than the previous government, yet it has spent N2.7 trillion on infrastructure, the highest in the history of the country.

He said that the Buhari-led administration had done much because it was not stealing money; was doing major roads in 36 states–Lagos Kano railway, Warri, Aladja, Mambilla, Port Hacourt, Maiduguri among others.

“We are giving about 300,000 of the poorest Nigerians N5000 a month. How? Because Buhari is the gate keeper he has stopped grand corruption.

“So despite the fact that we are earning 60 per cent less we are doing five times more. This is why there is a gang up by the discredited elite against him.

“They prayed for him to die, he didn’t die. When he came back hale and hearty by the grace of the Almighty God, they mourned while Nigerians rejoiced.

”The fear of Buhari makes these people desperate even crazy. So now they say he is Jibrin from Sudan. If you can’t discredit him say he doesn’t exist; they were all alive and well when Pastor Adeboye went to London and prayed for him the day before he returned to Nigeria.

“How will one Jubril sit in Federal Executive Council and conduct meetings, consult with his ministers, speak to me daily?

“Their strategy is simple, if you tell a lie often enough some will believe you; Buhari is not only alive and well, he will by God’s grace live long and well after his second term in office.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday ordered the evacuation of Nigerians stranded in Russia after the World Cup.

Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, stated this, following reports that some Nigerian fans who travelled for the World Cup were stranded.


The affected Nigerians, numbering 50, were allegedly swindled.

But Mr Shehu said the President has directed Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of Foreign Affairs and Hadi Sirika, minister of state for Aviation, to commence the process of repatriating the Nigerians.

The directive, according to Mr Shehu, is in line with the current administration’s policy to ensure the welfare of Nigerians in every part of the world.

Big Disappointment for Nigerian

- About 80 Nigerian football fans were sighted outside of the country's embassy in Russia - They were gathered in front of the building asking for help from the government as they want to return home to their families.

-The Super Eagles failed to advance from Group D after losing 2-1 to Argentina in the final group game on May 26 No fewer than 80 Nigerians are currently seeking help to return home from Russia after being stranded in the European country. Mostly men, are seated on a blue mat in front of the country's embassy in the European country.

DAAC. Gathered that most of them claimed they came to Russia as volunteers but according to findings, they came to Moscow in search of greener pasture.

The Department of State Services, DSS have cordoned off the Apo residence of the Chairman, South East Senate Caucus, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, PDP, Abia South.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy, Senator Abaribe (Abia South, PDP), has raised alarm over what he claims to be the fraudulent insertion of N30 billion budgeted for power in the recently-signed 2018 appropriation bill.
With a padding controversy trailing the new act, Abaribe said the questionable sum was inserted into the budget even though it never passed through his power committee.
He said, "The amount never passed through the senate power committee. Where did such huge sum of N30 billion come from? Let the budget office and other relevant bodies conduct self examination. Such self examination will go a long way to clear gray areas."

He disclosed that the N30 billion in question was marked for expansion and re-enforcement of infrastructure in the distribution companies to reduce stranded firms. The Ministry of Power, Works and Housing received the lion's share of the 2018 budget with N715 billion (capital and recurrent).
Senator Abaribe also expressed shock and displeasure with the slashing of the budget allocation for the Enugu airport terminal which was cut down to N500 million by lawmakers from the N2 billion submitted by the executive arm.
As chairman of the Southeast Senate Caucus, Abaribe said the allocation was reduced after Committees on Aviation at the Senate and House of Representatives had jointly adopted the initial amount.

He further mentioned that the caucus had even lobbied to increase the allocation to N3.5 billion but were unable to achieve it because it had an envelope budgetary plan which meant it couldn't be increased past N2 billion.

He disclosed that the caucus will meet soon and find out who made the cut and why it was made despite what had already been agreed.
"No right thinking Igbo man would support any cut on allocation for projects in the south-east region," he said.

A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr. Orient Donald Duke has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo has not given his blessings in his quest to become the next President of Nigeria.

Donald Duke Duke, a former governor of Cross River, who recently declared his intention to run for the exalted office, told newsmen in Lagos that though he remained close to Obasanjo, his decision to run was personal.

“I am not hypocritical. I am close to the former president but he is neither my sponsor nor backup. However, those who come up with these propaganda also go to get the ex-president’s endorsement.

“I will not keep people aside because of what others think. I need everybody’s support but I am running as Duke and nobody’s stogie.

“I will be putting myself up to run. How it pans out is not what I can say’’ he said.

‘Nigeria’s Anti-Corruption War Can’t Be Won Until EFCC Arrests Past Leaders’

Prof. Wole Soyinka has warned that Nigeria’s war against corruption will not succeed until the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission corrupt leaders are held to account.


Professor Soyinka gave the warning on Monday at the opening of a four-day conference of heads of anti-corruption agencies from across Africa in Abuja.

To get a first-hand experience of the plans the anti-graft agency had for corrupt leaders, the Nobel laureate told those at the conference that he paid a visit to the EFCC headquarters.

“I took the trouble yesterday to visit the headquarters of EFCC. I wanted to see what would be the mode of hospitality for some of our leaders who will surely, sooner or later, pass through the doors of that beautiful (EFCC) building not far from here,” he said.

“I am not a vengeful person, but I think that until we make sure that some of our leaders pass through those doors, this struggle against corruption in this country will not be won.”
