Ushers are common fixtures at weddings, live theater, the opera, and stadiums and sporting events. They are usually responsible for overseeing guest seating and addressing any seating or security issues that arise.

Usher Duties

Ushers are required to es**rt guests and patrons to their seats.
At weddings, ushers must es**rt guests of honor, such as parents of the bride and groom, to seats at the front.

In other settings, ushers help guests locate their seats in an auditorium, theater, or stadium. They decide whether seats can be changed and arbitrate disputes over tickets and corresponding seats.

Guest relations
Ushers are expected to dress neatly(in uniform) and present a professional "face" to each guest. They must remain calm under all circumstances and treat guests with respect in all situations. If guests are in the wrong seats, ushers must politely ask them to move. Ushers also frequently pass out programs or information about the event or performance and answer guests' questions about performance/event times, intermission, concessions, restroom locations and venue policies. If there are elderly or disabled guests, ushers are responsible for ensuring their safe passage from the door to their seats and providing assistance if needed. If guests request help looking for lost items, ushers are expected to provide it.

Other duties
Ushers may be asked to perform virtually any task to help the event or ceremony run more smoothly. Sometimes ushers double as ticket-takers or as security guards, keeping control of unruly patrons until law enforcement officials arrive. In case of emergency, ushers must keep exit doors unlocked and unobstructed.

While you're shopping for decor, if you cant DIY get a decorators in your city that can work with your budget
it's a good idea to also look into bridal shower games to entertain guests at the party. Some of the classic bridal shower games include bridal bingo, wedding mad libs, and guessing trivia about the bride. Games are a good way to help your guests break the ice, especially if many of them have never met before. Plan the games for when there's a natural lull in the party, such as after everyone has finished eating and before the bride opens her gifts. 

9. Create an uplifting playlist. 
While music isn't the main focus of the day, it's nice to have some background noise as guests are arriving, chatting, and enjoying their refreshments. Create a bridal shower playlist with mood-boosting and age-appropriate songs—bonus points if they're about romance or marriage!

Plan to finalize, purchase, and mail out the bridal shower 4-3weeks prior to the event. This will give guests plenty of time to clear their schedules, buy a gift, and let you know if they're unable to attend. 

6 Plan the bridal shower menu and stock the bar. 
After you’ve sent out the invitations and the RSVPs start rolling in, you can begin working on the menu for the party. Our main pieces of advice for planning the menu: stick to foods that you know the bride will like, and choose foods that are easily served. If you're hosting a brunch-themed bridal shower, opt for a mimosa bar, coffee drinks, and breakfast foods like mini waffles or salmon toast. For a boho-themed shower, a build-your-own-taco station with guacamole and margaritas would be a fun option. Depending on your budget, you can have the meal professionally catered, cook the food yourself (hopefully with the help of the bridesmaids!) or ask guests you're close with if they'd be willing to bring a potluck dish.

Wondering how to organize that Bridal Shower like a Boss ? Stick with me.

1. Decide on a bridal shower Theme
Before picking a menu/Venue choose a theme, the first step of bridal shower planning is deciding on a THEME. So how do you identify the perfect theme? Look at what the Bride-to-be likes, For example Music,Sense of fashion (Vintage style), places she loves to travel etc (Musical theme, Old-school, Paris theme)

2. Set a date for the shower. 
We recommend starting to plan the bridal shower at least 4weeks before the big day, The bridal shower should take place before the wedding.
Consult the bride before you finalize the date to ensure that it works for her schedule and also accommodates few family members

3. Decide on a bridal shower budget. 
Before picking a menu or choosing guest list the next step of bridal shower planning is deciding on a budget.
In Nigeria 🇳🇬 we suggest choosing an amount of money that you can easily afford without breaking the bank. Just to make the Bride happy. We promise she’ll be grateful no matter what!

4. Create a bridal shower guest list. 
After you’ve settled on the when, the next step when planning a bridal shower is the who. Ask the bride for a list of must-invite people, as well as Phone numbers for each guest. The final guest count should be between 5 and 20 people, depending on where you think you'll host the party (more on that in a minute). Just remember: Anyone who is invited to the bridal shower should also be invited to the wedding.
