As the new school year approaches, we kindly ask for a moment of your time to discuss an important topic with your child/ren. Please take just 5 minutes to sit down and explain to them that there is never a valid reason to mock or make fun of someone for their physical appearance, background, or interests.

Help them understand that wearing the same shoes every day is perfectly fine and that a used backpack can hold just as many dreams as a new one. Encourage them to embrace and include those who may be different from them, and to always choose kindness over exclusion.

Remind them that school is a place for learning, not for competition or negativity. Teach them the power of empathy and the impact of their words and actions on others. Let them know that some children may not have a loving family to go home to, so it is crucial to show compassion and understanding.
