How you can plan your wedding, if you can't afford a wedding planner.

1. Take a deep breath, ask yourself the kind of wedding you want.

2. Have a talk with your spouse, talk about expectations and ensure you both are on the same page.

3. Talk to your family, siblings, all stakeholders involved directly.

4. Have a budget, yes have a budget, yes o have a budget

5. Draft a guest size, if you can conclude on a number yet, have an estimation.

6. Look for the venue that fit into the kind of wedding you want.

7. Source for vendors, this one is a bit dicey, you will need a professional to help you here, e get why๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพask my past clients, this is were most clients are stuck๐Ÿ˜ซ one out of the stressful phase of planning weddings, I have a template on hiring vendors, things to look out for, questions to ask, you need this, its for a token.

As an event planner that plans, manage and coordinates different events from weddings,birthdays, vows, private dinner,get together, social and corporate...

A little reminder for the couple that might need this.

As a couple after your wedding especially for the night, you might need this few items

1. Food: you might not get to eat during the ceremony, trust me hunger will come calling at night you need to eat the main dish before the desserts๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‚

2. Favorite snacks:you need something to snack on

3. Bluetooth speaker

4. Toiletries

5. Scented candles, petals: Not compulsory, but if you are the romantic type, you sure need this

6. Massage oil

7. Your luggage: most couple forget this part, especially picking the essentials things, some couple will not even remember where they dropped their box.

Happy Thursday FAM, wedding tips Thursday, while we prepare for our next event, let me talk about GUESTS LIST, there is always back and forth with client when it comes to guests list especially with the parents oh lord๐Ÿ˜‚, our mummies to be precise, ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ topic for another day.

Few pointers

1. You can't invite everyone you know, your wedding is not a Reunion.

2. Consider your parents occupation, if one of your parent is a teacher, wow, teachers are known to show up for one another.

3. Know the estimation number of guests, and add extras, especially when not on a strictly by invitation event.

4. Have a seating chart, discuss with family about the floor plan.

Note: in a typical Nigerian party, people do not seats on assigned seats because they want to seats in front, some even go as far as removing the table tags, now imagine if you don't have a coordinator to control and put measures in place, to know more , just hire Eventsbyjsp for your event.

5. It good to have an access card, it makes you plan within your budget/money, cos you can make plans for 300 guests and 500 guest shows up๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ฅ.

A typical Nigerian might not agree with this option but it is the safest, you plan within the estimated number of guests, except if you plan on having over flowing food and drinks.

Hire planner, you no hear, now caterer don carry meats dey hide

its wedding tips Thursday, some months back I wrote on caterers and things to look out for.

from the videos circulating online the caterer is not a professional, professionals don't even work like that, the caterer is the normal olopo people use to cook for their party. Note: olopo are the women you buy food ingredients to cook for your event.

When you have an event planner/ coordinator for your event, there is some sort of supervision and control, when a caterer is paid to cook for a certain number of guests, we have managers that check what was delivered and all.

An event planner will not want to compromise on the quality of job they deliver, they are after the success of your event and to ensure everyone is satisfied and client get value for money spent.

As an event planner we give caterers contract agreement to sign on deliverables and expectations are stated on the form.

As a client or couple to be, family sef dey hide coolers of meats, you just need to hire a professional
