“Is a picture really worth a thousand words? What thousand words? A thousand words from a lunatic, or a thousand words from Nietzsche? Actually, Nietzsche was a lunatic, but you see my point. What about a thousand words from a rambler vs. 500 words from Mark Twain? He could say the same thing quicker and with more force than almost any other writer. One thousand words from Ginsberg are not even worth one from Wilde. It’s wild to declare the equivalency of any picture with any army of 1,000 words. Words from a writer like Wordsworth make you appreciate what words are worth. ”

Bridal Party Gifts for Those Who Deserve it the Most

These days, couples are scaling back their wedding expenses. Gone are the days of elaborate, over-the-top wedding extravaganzas. Unless you're a chart-topping pop star, the majority of couples are finding that it makes more sense to scale back on wedding preparations.

Look around and take inventory of the collective skills and talents your friends and family possess. When you channel into that kind of talent and energy, good things happen! With all of these people helping out before, during, and after the wedding, it's vital to buy superior best man gifts and bridal party gifts. These people truly deserve a “thank you” for a job well done.

The following are some talents you just might be able to tap into, with suggested gift items for that person:

The handyman. This person can fix anything, including faulty video cameras or fountains that fail to spout water at the wedding reception. Make sure this guy is on hand with some tools tucked away nearby. He may not even be in the wedding party, but he'll still deserve wedding party gifts. A personalized cooler bag, framed sports-themed photograph, or engraved mug make good wedding party gifts.
The caterer. There's always at least one friend or family member who loves to cook for large groups. Instead of hiring a professional caterer, save your money and enlist the help of this person. Fancy sandwiches, finger foods, salads, a deli plate, and beverages make a good start to an informal wedding reception. For this person, ask what they would charge. Unless they do this for a living, you're probably going to pay a lot less than you normally would. Bridal party gifts might not fit the bill, but make sure to buy a nice “thank you” gift like a set of fluted champagne glasses (engraved of course) or a personalized bottle of wine.

What other talents are there in your group of friends? Look around and you're sure to find someone who dabbles in photography, knows how to make the perfect wedding music mix, or whose strength is decorating like a pro. Don't be afraid to ask for help!

Exposure is the measuring and balancing of light

Too much light and the picture will be washed out. Not enough light and the picture will be too dark. A good photograph depends on calculating the exposure settings that will give the film the "right" amount of exposure.

The photographer can control how much natural light reaches film
by adjusting the camera's shutter, aperture, or film sp*ed.

Measuring light (technical exposure)
A good technical exposure will produce a final image that accurately represents the original scene.. Film is light sensitive, and if the exposure is too dark or too bright, the result will not look like "real life".

Balancing light (artistic exposure)
Just to make things interesting, in any situtation there are several camera setting that give exactly the brightness but with very different outcomes. Which to choose is up to you, the photograph

7 Top Tips for Choosing a Wedding Venue

Perhaps you’ve just got engaged and can’t wait to book your wedding venue – but do you really know what you’re looking for? Before you go dashing off to look around every single wedding reception venue within a hundred miles, here are some top tips to think about when choosing a wedding venue:

Communication is key
Have a chat with your other half about the sort of wedding you would like and be prepared to compromise if you have different ideas; this could help avoid disagreements later! Are you looking for a summer wedding in a marquee, a relaxed or contemporary barn wedding venue or a formal and elegant country house?
Civil ceremony or church wedding?
Deciding what type of ceremony you would like will highlight the area in which you should look for a wedding venue as your wedding reception venue should ideally be within a 20 – 25 minute radius of the church.
Decide on a budget
Working out a budget early on will help you to shortlist potential wedding venues. Wedding catering and alcohol normally take up quite a large chunk of your budget so remember to include it in your calculations.
What’s best for guests?
Don’t forget about guests travelling to your wedding. If you want to avoid incurring expensive taxi charges and hotel bills for them or coach costs for you, look for a wedding venue near to where the majority of your guests live.
Wedding guest numbers
Have a rough idea of guest numbers before you start looking for a wedding venue or be prepared to alter your guest list. This should avoid the disappointment of visiting a beautiful wedding venue only to find out it is too big/small for your wedding.
Your wedding date
If you’ve decided on a date for your wedding and it’s set in stone, check the availability of that date before you visit. If you’re flexible about the day of the week, month, season, or even the year of your wedding you’ll have a much wider choice of venues.
Seek expert advice
Wedding websites such as this one are useful because they have details of a wide range of wedding venues at your fingertips. If you’d like some assistance searching for a venue, a wedding venue finding service can help; tell them your requirements and they will search for a venue to suit you from their extensive list of wedding venues – many of which will be privately-owned. Wedding planners can also help you choose a wedding venue as they have experience of weddings at different venues.

icon big grin DECEMBER WEDDINGS IN NIGERIA HIGH END WEDDINGS *****

December remains one of the hottest and most contested wedding season for Nigerian photographers.

Despite being the festive period many Nigerian brides based outside Nigeria love to use this period to tie the knots, we virtually have about a hundred weddings within this period alone.

I personally like to refer to December brides as the Nigeria’s High-End brides because it’s this brides that seem to always be willing to pay premium for not just photography but for other wedding services as well.

Hot on their list of wedding requirement is a hunt for the very best wedding photographer they can find, while some rely on “big name” wedding photographers and don’t even request to see sample of their recent work, many prefer to hunt online for the very best.

Typically 2 options are available to the Nigerian bride looking for a quality wedding photographer

One – “Import” your photographer – Lol !! ( I like that word, import)
Two – Stick to the locals

Sticking to the locals often times is a last resort if all the top international photographers are booked but that shouldn’t always be the case. Nigeria has a lot of world class professional photographers based right here in Nigeria (I could start naming them really but then I would be marketing for them icon biggrin DECEMBER WEDDINGS IN NIGERIA HIGH END WEDDINGS )

Williams is one of Nigeria’s leading wedding photographers based right here in Nigeria and specializes in shooting high-end weddings for high-end brides here in Nigeria. My style is photoGenic with a touch of the traditional photojournalism. My albums are story telling books with a difference, I don’t bore you with my photoshop skills (which I happen not to have by the way)but rather concentrate on the showcasing the essence of your beautiful day, just the way it happened.

When you book Photo-genie,Being professionally trained, I have had the privilege of shooting alongside the very good photographers so feel free to look around my blog and see things for yourself. You could also use the below links to see what I am currently working on.
