It’s not enough to just own a camera, Everyone owns a camera. To be a photographer you must understand, appreciate, harness the power you hold!” With this quote I’ll like to draw your attention to today’s world photography day celebration annually,
On 19th August we observe world photography day. The celebration of art, craft, science and history of photography.
The day is commemorated with the aim of encouraging people who wants to pursue photography as a hobby or career.

Each year WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY has a theme, the 2023 theme is “Landscapes”. World photography day became so popular that in 2022, world photography week was introduced. Photographs got better and better over the years. With the rise of digital photography and ability to share our work to the world. It has become very easier to express ourselves and document our lives .

The history of photography can be traced back to the early 19th century. Two Frenchmen named JOSEPH NICEPHORE NIEPCE and LOUIS DAGUERRE developed the “daguerreotype” in 1837. On 19th August 1839, the French government acquired the patent. The first world photography day was observed in 19 August 2010

In today’s digital world, photography plays an important role in connecting people, bringing us together and building relationships. It’s serves as a reminder of our past, captures the beauty of the present and tells stories of the future. We should all take time to appreciate the art of photography and celebrate it power on this special day
