Op zaterdag 19 oktober gaan we de barricade op, en doet Ondergronds Verzetje mee aan ADEV (Amsterdam Danst Ergens Voor), het alternatief tijdens ADE 2024, en we nodigen jullie allemaal uit om samen met ons een statement te maken! 💥 Dit is het moment om te laten zien dat de underground leeft en niet zwijgt. 🎶 Terwijl de regering probeert ons demonstratierecht in te perken, zorgen wij ervoor dat de straten van ons blijven, met een oorverdovend geluid en een onvergetelijke vibe. 🌈

We komen in actie met onze 🚛 truck, die we omtoveren tot een knallende old-school rave ervaring waar de techno om je oren knalt. 🎧 Verwacht een zee van legernetten, felle fluor kleuren, en natuurlijk onze iconische 😊 smiley. Dit wordt een dansfeest zoals het hoort: vrij, inclusief, en back to basics. Het dak gaat eraf voor iedereen, ongeacht wie je bent. 💃🕺

Onze boodschap is duidelijk: dansen is demonstreren, en het recht om te demonstreren hoort bij een vrije samenleving. ✊ Daarom roepen we jullie op om samen met ons en onze community de straat op te gaan, zoals we dat eerder deden met onvergetelijke street en park raves. 🚨 De underground is een plek voor iedereen, zonder hokjes en zonder grenzen en moet betaalbaar blijven voor iedereen. 💯

Dear Friends,

Farewell to GINO: A Celebration of Life and Music

Join us this evening for a special farewell event to honor the life of GINO Lightner, a beloved DJ whose vibrant personality and eclectic music style left a lasting impact on Amsterdam's underground music scene.

GINO arrived in the Netherlands from the U.S. in the late 1980s and quickly became a central figure in the house music community. Known for his incredible taste in records and his ability to connect with people, GINO was a pioneer in bringing diverse music genres together. His infectious energy and love for music made him a beloved presence at countless parties and events, where he not only entertained but also inspired many.

This celebration will take place on 5th of September from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The event is free to attend, and we will be collecting donations to support GINO's family during this difficult time.

Gisteren kregen wij allemaal uit het niet en totaal onverwacht het ontzettend droevige nieuws dat onze goede vriend Gino Lightner veel te vroeg van ons heen is gegaan. Gino kwam eind jaren 80 vanuit de USA naar Nederland en hielp met het opbouwen van de house scene in Amsterdam en het hele land. Hij werd een pionier en een held van onze geliefde party scene, de bindende factor en een vriend van velen in de geweldige wereld die mede door zijn inzet ontstond. Gino was dan ook een artiest in hart en nieren, de muziek stroomde werkelijk non stop door zijn aderen. Hij had een magnifieke muziek smaak waarbij er ruimte was voor alle stijlen in het genre. Zijn zoektocht naar nieuwe stijlen en muziek stopte nooit tot op de dag van gisteren. Bovenal was hij een begenadigd dj die het mixen van platen leek te hebben uitgevonden en hij deelde deze kennis openhartig en met passie met een ieder die de grote stap achter de decks wilde maken. Naast zijn glorieuze carrière als dj was hij ook een organisator van vele party’s vooral in zijn geliefde underground dance scene in Amsterdam. Ook in deze hoedanigheid heeft Gino velen van ons op weg geholpen door zijn kennis en immense netwerk te delen. Dit alles voor de liefde van de scene en het feest want natuurlijk was Gino tot op de laatste dag vooral een feestbeest en liefhebber van house party’s de plek waar hij het liefst te vinden was.

Ook voor Ondergronds Verzetje en Radio Tegendraads was Gino een onmisbare belangrijke factor. Hij wees ons de weg tijdens het ontstaan van onze organisatie en stond altijd vooraan om op onze evenementen op te treden waarbij hij steevast de overtreffende trap vormde die onze evenementen naar een hoger niveau tilde. Hij was onze meester die altijd met raad en vooral daad voor ons en voor velen klaar stond en daar zullen wij hem eeuwig dankbaar voor zijn.

Zijn plotselinge vertrek is voor ons en voor velen nog steeds niet te bevatten en het zal ons allen tijd en besef gaan kosten om dit grootste verlies een plaats te geven. Vanavond kunnen en willen wij niet anders dan onze wekelijkse uitzending van Radio Tegendraads volledig in het teken te zetten in de vorm van een eerbetoon aan onze eeuwige meester, held en vriend Gino Lightner en een eerste stapje te maken om het een plaats te geven en we willen iedereen die hier vanavond bij wil zijn uitnodigen tussen 22.00 en 00.00 in de studio van AMW op het NDSM Plein of luister mee via de stream

Episode 161 | An ode to Gino Lightner

Yesterday, out of the blue and completely unexpectedly, we all received the incredibly sad news that our good friend Gino Lightner left us far too soon. Gino came to the Netherlands from the USA in the late 80s and helped build the house scene in Amsterdam and the entire country. He became a pioneer and a hero of our beloved party scene, the unifying factor and a friend to many in the wonderful world that was partly created by his efforts. Gino was an artist through and through, the music really flowed non-stop through his veins. He had a magnificent taste in music with room for all styles in the genre and his search for new styles and music never stopped until yesterday. Above all, he was a gifted DJ who seemed to have invented mixing records and he shared this knowledge openly and passionately with anyone who wanted to take the big step behind the decks. In addition to his glorious career as a DJ, he was also an organizer of many parties, especially in his beloved underground dance scene in Amsterdam. Also in this capacity, Gino has helped many of us on our way by sharing his knowledge and immense network. All this for the love of the scene and the party because of course Gino was mainly a party animal and lover of house parties until the last day, the place where he preferred to be.

Gino was also an indispensable important factor for Ondergronds Verzetje and Radio Tegendraads. He showed us the way during the creation of our organization and was always at the front to perform at our events, always providing the superlative that took our events to a higher level. He was our master who was always ready for us and for many others with advice and, above all, action and we will be eternally grateful to him for that.

His sudden departure is still incomprehensible for us and for many and it will take time and awareness for all of us to come to terms with this greatest loss. Tonight we cannot and do not want to do anything else than to completely dedicate our weekly broadcast of Radio Tegendraads in the form of a tribute to our eternal master, hero and friend Gino Lightner and to take a first step to give it a place and we We would like to invite everyone who wants to be here tonight between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. to the AMW studio on the NDSM Square or jojo us y the stream
