Lineup for the final Orbits x SITP fall series, next Tuesday!

LIDA BROUSKARI SOLO
Lida Brouskari graces us solo, on the keys. A skilled pianist who started at a very early age, Brouskari has been making waves in the local scene in various formations, including her band Nufaro, which blends avant-garde pop sensibilities with experimental and ’70s rock influences.

Lida Brouskari – keys

RUIDOSCURO
Frank Rosaly’s Ruidoscuro presents strict sequential patterns against improvisation to inhabit ritualistic musical movement. The music tells a dark, haunting story in a richly layered context of spinning polyrhythms, bi-tonal melodic material, and pivoting harmonic structures in a new music that defies centralization. Layered systems of repetition, trance-based cycles, and melodic motifs spin and bridge one another, creating space for the listener to become lost in the raw energy of this powerful quartet.

Marta Warelis – keys | Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti – electronics | Andy Moor – guitar | Frank Rosaly – drums

HRISTO GOLEMINOV / SIEBREN SMINK
Hristo Goleminov is a saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist with a keen interest in free improvisation. For this event, he’s in full interplay with close friend and long-time collaborator Siebren Smink, a guitarist and composer who was steeped in psych rock as a kid. They will play new compositions by Goleminov, exploring baroque-inspired counterpoint, oddly singable melodies, and interwoven structures within the low confines of the baritone sax and guitar.

Hristo Goleminov – saxophone | Siebren Smink – guitar

About Ruidoscuro:

Frank Rosaly’s Ruidoscuro is a musical research project focusing on his native Puerto Rican roots in concert with his background as an improviser, composer, and jazz musician. Using electronics alongside acoustic instruments to create otherworldly reflections of pre-Columbus indigenous instruments and employing strict sequential patterns against improvisation to inhabit ritualistic musical movement, the music tells a dark, haunting story in a richly layered context of spinning polyrhythms, bi-tonal melodic material, and pivoting harmonic structures in a new music that defies centralization. Layered systems of repetition, trance-based cycles, and melodic motifs spin and bridge one another, creating space for the listener to become lost in the raw energy of this powerful quartet.

Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti – synthesizers & electronics | Marta Warelis – synthesizers | Andy Moor – electric guitar | Frank Rosaly – drums & electronics

Interlinie is organized in cooperation with Sound in Motion, Klankhaven, KAAP, Rataplan & Sojo

Artist details for the first Orbits x SITP in two weeks! Three acts on a Tuesday, dinner available. With the thrilling Amirtha Kidambi coming to NL with her Elder Ones joined by Karen NG, Novelo Vago’s playful experiments, and Julien Desprez’s instrumental frenzies. Ticket link in bio.

NOVELO VAGO
Novelo Vago is a contemporary music garage band characterized by an unconventional approach. Playful, experimental, sharp, and sometimes witty: the trio uses a mix of toy instruments, small percussion instruments, piccolo, s*x toys, whatnot! The band’s formation is rooted in a decade-long friendship, valuing fun and togetherness as key, above traditional rehearsal practices.

Vera Morais – voice, toy instruments | Teresa Costa – flute, piccolo, toy instruments | Inês Lopes – toy piano, melodica, toy instruments

ELDER ONES + KAREN NG
Elder Ones is an experimental free jazz ensemble led by composer and vocalist Amirtha Kidambi featuring saxophonists Matt Nelson and Alfredo Colon, bassist Lester St. Louis, and drummer Jason Nazary. Kidambi’s voice weaves through intricate instrumentation with her characteristic syllabic, frenzied, and powerful utterances. Their music confronts themes like colonialism, capitalism, and violence, channeling ancestral energy and resistance to systemic oppression through their performances. They are joined on stage by improvisational musician and sax-wizard Karen Ng.

Amirtha Kidambi – vocals | Matt Nelson, Alfredo Colon, Karen Ng – saxophone | Lester St. Louis – bass | Jason Nazary – drums

JULIEN DESPREZ

Performing solo with only his guitar and effects pedals, Julien Desprez engages all the senses, placing the body and its movements at the heart of his practice. Here, he presents Agora, a twofold performance that plays with several points of view. A soft, explosive, and joyful trance merges polyrhythmics, high-voltage electricity, guitar, and body until their rupture and reconciliation. With playfulness and frenzy, a multiple world is negotiated through your listening.

Julien Desprez – guitar, podorhythmics, electronics

DJ collective FUUTUREJAZZ – After the concert

Enter the sonic playground of FUUTUREJAZZ, an experimental electronic crew guided by the eternal spirit of jazz. Jazz, not strictly in the sense of swung drums and elaborate horn solo’s, but in it’s broader essence of taking conventions, bending and breaking them, of improvisation and playfulnes, of coming together and building something new. With them throwing parties Garage Noord and through their Echobox Radio residency, expect an end of the eve in style.
