Meet Carlos Gilly, P.h.D. 🎓
As a historian and scholar, Dr. Carlos Gilly has dedicated his life to uncovering the rich history of free thought, Hermeticism, and early modern intellectual movements. His research illuminates the brave thinkers who shaped the pursuit of knowledge and freedom.

We’re thrilled to announce our participation in Les Fronteres del Coneixement (The Frontiers of Knowledge) exhibition at Biblioteca Pública Arús, Barcelona, from October 15, 2024, to January 10, 2025.

For the first time, the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica (BPH) collection will be showcased in Spain, featuring rare books (15th–18th centuries) where science, alchemy, magic, and hermeticism converge. This milestone honors the legacy of Dr. Carlos Gilly and his groundbreaking research into these profound works. This exhibition not only underscores the importance of intellectual freedom but also fosters a deeper understanding of the cultural and intellectual movements that have shaped our world.

Elk stuk belicht een auteur, idee of boek en hun relevantie voor de wereld van vandaag. ze heeft bijvoorbeeld artikelen gepubliceerd over spirituele alchemie en zelfkennis zoals beschreven in het Corpus Hermeticum, en androgynie in het denken van Jabob Böhme en andere filosofen. 🌍💡

Last saturday we opened our doors during Museumnacht. It was a great success! our guests enjoyed themselves with tours, tarot readings 🔮, alchemical cocktails 🍸🧙‍♀️ and went wild on the dancefloor in the Grote Sael thanks to our Dj 💃🪩 🎶. What was your highlight of the evening? let us know!

Recently, the MuseumKring of StadsdorpZuid visited The Embassy of the Free Mind.

StadsdorpZuid is an organization that provides activities bringing neighbours in Amsterdam South closer together.

They received a tour of our collection and wrote a lovely article calling it an amazing experience.

Last Thursday, and took the visitors of our ADE event on a sonic journey that explored the connection between ancient principles and modern sound healing. ✨

🎶 Evenaris took us deep into electronic soundscapes using tuning forks and the monochord, showing us the connection between music and spirituality.

🔮 Derek Lomas, PhD shared fascinating insights on cymatics and the hidden principles of resonance 🔊 and how it connects us to the universe. ✨ He also demonstrated glasses that use specific light patterns to make you see all kinds of geometric shapes. 👁️

The performances alternated with deep discussions with the audience and even a spontaneous collaboration with Sufi singer , who performed 14th-century Sufi songs. Showing us the way music can connects us all. 💫
