Meet the team 💛

- In this section, we proudly present our salsa dance teachers -

My name is Flora and I have been dancing Salsa for about 15 years.

After completing the Dance Academy in 2010, I started a Salsa dance school together with my dance partner: Salsa Na'Ma. With locations in Maastricht (Dn Hiemel), Heerlen (Swing-Inn) and in Belgium (La Rosa Negra). We taught Cuban Salsa and Rueda de Casino. A wonderfully cheerful dance style where having fun together is key. After running the dance school for two years, we parted ways and I decided to move to Spain (Granada). Why? Because I really wanted to learn Spanish, so I could understand Spanish Salsa songs. Actually, any motivation to go to Spain is good ;)

After a great time in Spain, I return to the Netherlands to study Marketing and take up dancing more seriously.

In the following years, I was part of several international Salsa & Bachata show teams where I learned a lot. In terms of dance techniques and performance wise, by performing at various international conventions. Including Guiramigos Dance Company, Bachata Pasion Student Show team (led by Geno & Steffie), Salsipuedes Dance Company show team (led by Gerald Fraaij & Karin Karamat Ali) and Los Requinteros (led by Richendel Igneca). I also took lessons from Marlon Borkulo (Salsa on 2) in Leiden. Tough but great lessons.

I currently live in Barcelona and take lessons with several world class teachers, including: Argenis & Carolina, Carolina Rosa & Korke & Judith. I am immensely grateful for these opportunities!

To become a better dance teacher, in addition to completing the dance academy, starting my dance school and teaching at different dance schools, I also took Salsaventura's teacher training.

I recently started Salsa & tapas in Den Bosch and we opened our second location in Barcelona together with our great team. The third cool location is coming up, but will remain a secret for now ;) The idea is to introduce everyone to the joyful sounds and fun of Salsa and, of course, delicious tapas from our selected restaurants.

Dancing is my oxygen, I literally cannot live without it. I would love to share the happiness and pleasure I experience while dancing with everyone. Let's spread some high vibes for everybody!♡

Meet the team💛

➡️ Jasper Janus - Team NL🇱🇺

-In this section we proudly present our team-

Hi, I'm Jasper and you're likely to find me behind a camera. Born and raised in Tilburg I grew up to be quite the tech nerd.

I dabbled in photography and video in the analog days but it never really took off back then. Only after I started dancing (poorly), I found a renewed interest in videography, mostly just recording salsa shows. Some silly projects got me into video editing, which led to trying multi-cam shoots, which in turn led to stepping up my game, quality-wise. I got my hands on a second-hand, outdated, but professional video camera, which required quite some technical skills and knowledge to operate.

In a sense, the early results prompted me to study the intricacies of the art even more, sending me on a path to unlock my potential and passion to create the visual content that had yet remained fleeting glimpses in the back of my mind.

After doing some projects, my work attracted the attention from some very talented people in the Latin scene, landing me some awesome shoots and collaborations. Starting to get overwhelmed, I ran into a kindred soul with some time on her hands. This chance meeting turned out to be the start of a fruitful traineeship with Melanie, my lovely and talented assistant. At this point we'd formed a great team, expanding our services to include photography.

After investing in more equipment, the next step was to create a brand. This goal was quickly achieved. Our serious approach yielded even more clients and partnerships. The fact that we're passion-driven, not money-driven, put us in the very fortunate position of getting to focus on the creative projects we loved, affording us the luxury of treating post-production with the zeal and acumen it deserves. Not having to settle for rush jobs allowed us to chase our own, ever shifting standards. Having tickled the fancy of the Salsa y Tapas crew, we quickly joined forces. Teaming up with Salsa y Tapas has proved very rewarding on many levels. Besides the personal connection and hilarious shenanigans, this talented team has a way of bringing out the best in dancers.

When dancers really get into "the zone", they seem to shed all their worries, leaving just the joy and pleasure. To me, this has always felt like magic. Witnessing this wonderful transformation left me compelled to capture the magic. This is reflected in our brand name, "Juju Eye Candy". Juju is a reference to white magic. We've made it our mission to "capture awesome". It's a lovely, humbling, never-ending journey of self-improvement and pushing the envelope while doing what we love!

-In this section we proudly present our team -

My name is Yat-sun Tang , born in Venezuela and I have been living in Barcelona for 7 years.

I am a professional photographer and videographer, I love to connect with people and love to capture authentic and unique moments with my camera 📸📽🎬.

Being from Venezuela, I grew up dancing. At birthdays and parties, we always dance. This helps me capture the right image. When you understand the dance moves, you can predict the movement. You can click at the right moment to capture the perfect shot.

In Barcelona, I worked at Joinsmiler. On the streets of Barcelona, we took professional photos of random people, those we could then sell through an app. That's also how I met Flora. Who later asked me to come work for Salsa y tapas.

One of the reasons why I wanted to become a professional photographer is because I often see things from a different perspective, my perspective and how I see things, I would like to share with the world.

- In this section we proudly present our Salsa dance teachers-

My name is Wouter and I live in picturesque 's-Hertogenbosch.
I started dancing salsa about 10 years ago. Since the day I started dancing I can't live without it.
I love the energy, connection while dancing and I love sharing this passion.

I took many dance classes to learn different styles and techniques.
Lessons from the best Dutch teachers, including Clyde Prika, Shelina Donkers & Marlon Borkulo.
I also participated in a few show teams to challenge my dance skills and go outside my comfort zone. Just to improve myself.
Throughout Europe, I went to dance congresses to learn from the best teachers in the world.

To share my passion for dance, I took a dance teacher training course so I could learn how to teach dance.
In recent years, I have gained experience teaching private lessons, workshops and even creating choreos for wedding dances.

With Salsa and tapas, I want to share my passion for this beautiful dance that changed my life 10 years ago. And toast to all the beautiful things in life with sangria and tapas!
