When the official ending of my DJ set is like this • Camp Lost, you surprised me last year with that unique energy only you guys possess and this year I simply came home again... ♥️ SO MUCH LOVE!

Being able to do the closing set once again was awesome. You guys were amazing and YES, you definitely kept me afloat. Thanks for your energy, thanks for the party, thanks for having me again in 2023 and see you soon. And to all new students: welcome to Breda!!

About new and old DJs • Let me tell you about this guy next to me on the right: that's .

What about him?

He's a possibly new DJ in the bar where I've been playing for many years as resident DJ. That night he was assigned to me to test drive a club night together and to learn the ropes of how that bar operates. I immediately recognise skill and I noticed straight away that he was not new to DJ-ing. Not at all. He proved experienced and skilled AF and... he did an amazing job right off the bat!

But that's not what struck me, since there's skilled guys, girls (and everything in between and outside of that) everywhere. What struck me the most was this: It's an increasingly rare thing anno 2023 to meet a (before unknown to me) talented DJ, that besides awesome skills ALSO shows to be simply a genuinely nice person. He showed so much genuine interest and respect towards an old DJ like me.

Not that he had to or that I demand respect for my loooong track record. (For the record: I myself am young AF btw of course 😉). But Sven-G proved eager to learn. He even took (literal) notes during and after, asked for extensive feedback during and after the gig as well and... he handled the criticism really well. For me it was this specific thing that made this gig so enjoyable.

For a seasoned DJ like me it's a trap that these resident gigs could lead to routine. Doing the same stuff again and again. Luckily the younger generation is keeping me sharp and fresh. So though a bit tired from a 13 hour DJ set (yes, you read that right), I truly had a blast, playing with this guy behind the decks in front of hundreds of freshmen students at their start of the new Dutch college year making them go WHOOP the entire night!

Did you happen to catch us and do you wanna see more of us behind the decks again soon sometimes? Good, because my gut feeling is telling me that that might happen sooner rather than later 🔥
