From the end of April until the beginning of June Irini Kalogeropoulou will work on the project 'Cityphonic Walks'.

Cityphonic Walks offers a sound walk around the building of the renovated TAC in the city centre, balancing the familiar with the mysterious. This walk explores dimensions of the city’s aural landscape that are often overlooked, focusing on aspects that are invisible, silent, and unspoken. The 'phonē' (voice) of a city comprises a series of sounds—a soundscape that can be understood as a sonic environment, with an emphasis on how it is perceived and interpreted by individuals or society.

Announcing our artist in residence, Irini Kalogeropoulou. From the eind of April until the beginning of June she will work on the project 'Cityphonic Walks'. With a conceptual
background in "performing public space" we found a perfect match. As TAC transforms into the 'new TAC', we explore the potential of construction sites and in-between spaces through sound. What impact do these spaces have on the city and its communities? This collaboration aims to uncover these aspects through soundscapes.

The new talents of Inversie #4!

On Tuesday, March 5th, Inversie #4 kicked off. Together with the new talents, we met at Kunstpodium T in Tilburg where the artists , , .shanna, , and came together for the first time. With drawing pens and a lot of imagination, everyone sketched themselves through the introduction round and got to know the mentors of this edition. The mentors of Inversie #4 are (Shanna), Oscar Peters (Fedrik), Ad van Rosmalen (Sofie), (Kelly), (Larissa) en Esther van Rosmalen (Renée).

Last week marked a significant milestone with the official signing of the new construction project, which includes 249 new homes. As TAC, the initiator and co-developer of the project, we will utilize the profits to create studios, an exhibition space, a hospitality area, workshop spaces, and residency stays. With this progress, we can now officially commence the construction of the new TAC.

Recently, TAC had the opportunity to work with Melanie Maria again on a unique project. Melanie transported the 'Rebirth' sculpture, initially created for High Tech Campus Eindhoven in 2022, to our temporary location at Kronehoefstraat. Here, it found a new home in a large sandbox.

The tree, which passed away before even taking it down for the HTC sculpture, managed to live an additional year and a half, supporting the growth of microorganisms. To celebrate this unexpected turn, Melanie wanted to gift her immortality and implanted 500 Reishi dowels into the tree. These dowels will allow the Reishi mushrooms to grow and inhabit the sculpture, sprouting next year. Reishi stands for immortal. Thank you Melanie, for rebirthing the Rebirth sculpture and to have this immortal sculpture in our frontyard!

Today and tomorrow during the TAC Open Studio Days are a great opportunity to see the Rebirth sculpture.

As the process of stripping the TAC building at the Vonderweg has begun, the municipality has advised us against hosting any further events in the space. About last weekend—filled with tooth gems, vintage clothes, live performances, auctions, and drinks in the TAC garden. We couldn't have asked for a better send-off for the TAC we all love. A huge thank you to Kamila Eshmanova and Van Gaever for 'We Just Want to Have Fun.'

Originally, this was expected to be the last event at TAC. However, given how unpredictable things can be, who knows? We might still be able to organise a few new events at TAC Vonderweg before it gets demolished. Keep following us to stay updated!

This is a recap of the second and also last weekend of the expo 'Now is now' on the 19th and 20th of september. What a great weekend with lots of amazing performances by Asiático, Davey Smand and Human Motives. Thank you for being part of our 'Now is now' expo.

Next up is an event hosted at TAC. Where you can buy second hand clothing, get a tooth gem and enjoy some drinks in the TAC garden. But that's not all. Since it will be one of the last events at TAC we are going to auction off some unique pieces of TAC memorabilia. Follow us for more info

MATHILDE NOBEL
Studying fine arts at St. Joost shaped her ways of making music and making music shaped her visual research as well. Being interested in subjects like history and nature, Mathilde uses different techniques to create an immersive experience. By using oil painting, film, 3d animation and music, she touches different historical based techniques that creates a display of multiple layers. The research of presentation of work is an ongoing research that is part of this exhibition.

RIANNE WILBERS
RHIANNIN is in-your-face, colourful, personal, absurdistic and sensual. Armed with her voice – singing, dancing and moaning – she confronts you and takes you into her inner world. She catches you in her web of image, sound and immersive technologies.

EVA SUSOVA
In somatic movement practises, we practise how to observe outside of the binary of good or bad and operate in the glitch between what you do and what does you. I am interested in this glitch; in the hybrid space that can’t be dissected and “cognitised”.
The work of Eva Susova expands from the practice of choreography and performance yet materialises not exclusively as such but also as sound, sculpture, writing, and installation.

ZEYNEP KAYAN
Interested in finding gestures that are connotative, restored behaviors, the action of invisible forces on the body through repetition in movement and sound. She is interested in the way things repeat, but never repeat in the same way. She is interested in the desire to repeat and to repeat to desire.

You are all invited for the expo Now is now. With all the changes that are coming, including the reconstruction of our building, events and programme, we often overlook the importance of the present moment. In our tendency to reflect on the past, remembering TAC with pride, and anticipate the future, we want to stay in the ‘now’, ‘Now is now’. TAC is here, we have what we have, and we are making the most out of it!

Embracing the philosophy of ‘living in the now’, ten artists are immersing themselves in the moment, redefine our spaces, transforming TAC into a temporary landscape of music and transdisciplinary works of art. After all, what is more present than sound?

During the two weekends in August, TAC presents several artist-musicians who will exhibit and perform within the unexpected spaces here at Vonderweg 1.

UPDATE TAC-RESIDENT: URŠA PREK | CADET

Cadet is a project that stems from a cluster of artistic research involving an object: a Vanilla Pudding dessert from Slovenia. Last year Urša Prek buried it, this year she is sending it to Near Space with the help of KNMI. The pudding is an artifact of a trivial memory, which is very intimately connected to Urša her history. Urša: “Understanding one’s past is an effort to make sense of identity, and simply, ways of being. How much of our (inexperienced) history impacts us?” The project is about control – not only physical but also intelligible. The act of sending the object almost 40km into the stratosphere creates the ultimate distance. It will go to a place she will never be able to go; the furthest she can distance herself (physically) from the trivial memory which is becoming an obsession.
