Deze tentoonstelling ontvouwt zich via drie met elkaar verweven leugens: een leugen van geluk, een leugen van wetenschap en een leugen van eer. Elk ervan werkt via het lichaam, elk belooft betekenis, vooruitgang of deugd, en elk laat een residu achter dat niet onder woorden kan worden gebracht.
In contrast met Qiao chu Guo’s eerdere performancegerichte werken experimenteert deze tentoonstelling met de mogelijkheid om kennis te produceren via ontrafelde geschiedenis, waar taal, zowel verbaal als lichamelijk, faalt. Door de tijd stil te zetten op een specifiek moment, een specifieke scène, stapelen ruïnes en overblijfselen zich op. Via voldoende sporen beginnen historische details te spreken.

This exhibition unfolds through three intertwined lies: a lie of happiness, a lie of science, and a lie of honour. Each operates through the body, each promises meaning, progress, or virtue, and each leaves behind a residue that cannot be spoken.
In contrast to Qiao chu Guo’s earlier performance-based works, this exhibition experiments with the possibility of producing knowledge through naked history—where language, both verbal and bodily, fails. By arresting time at a specific moment, a specific scene, ruins and remains accumulate. Through sufficient traces, historical details begin to speak.
