EP speaker announcement Jasper de Valk
𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 #12
X - The Moonshot Factory is a diverse group of inventors and entrepreneurs who build and launch technologies that aim to improve the lives of millions, even billions, of people. Their goal: 10x impact on the world’s most intractable problems, not just 10% improvement. They approach projects that have the aspiration and riskiness of research with the speed and ambition of a startup.
During the Executive Program (26-28 Sept) Jasper de Valk will give an introduction to X, and share his learnings from 9 years of working on innovation at Google and X. In the talk he'll dive into the people, culture and organization needed to fuel moonshots such as self-driving cars, delivery drones and robotics.

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 #11
Too much societal stress arises from humans fixing problems when they materialize. We have a non-granular approach to probabilities. Without vision our exponential world will be ruthless.
Designer babies, autonomous vehicles, addictive social media algorithms and biased Artificial Intelligence systems; technological developments bring about moral dilemmas and questions on the ethical framework of technology.
As an 2018 Forbes article tells us: “New technologies require us to pay attention, voice our concerns constructively, and demand accountability when people are harmed.”
During the Executive Program (26-28 Sept) Diederick Croese, CEO of SingularityU Benelux, will give an overview of developments in different exponential technologies, and will tie these technologies into questions on morality, desirability, and the future of what it means to be human.

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 #10
Learning from nature. Darwin's theory of evolution has long been widely interpreted from a competitive perspective, with the concept of the survival of the fittest.
Nowadays, the theory is being more and more interpreted from the perspective of cooperation, connection and reciprocity. What we learn from nature is strongly determined by the glasses with which we look at nature.
We live in the Anthropocene: the era in which the influence of man has become the dominant factor for the future of life on earth. Our vision on the relationship between man and nature is constantly being revised, but is now gaining momentum. This has had a major impact on the way in which we have dealt with nature. We have come to see it as an object of use and have exhausted it. Therefore the Anthropocene brings us new questions and dilemmas about the human-nature relationship.
The great crises of our time – the ecological crisis, the climate crisis, the Corona crisis – require us to consider the question: who do we think we are on this earth? We will have to reassess our position in relation to nature. From there we can gain new insights. We need to re-assess our attitude to nature and ask ourselves: are we owners, stewards or partners of nature?

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 #9
The #Metaverse is expanding quickly. Do you want to be part of this exciting new chapter of the Internet? Now is the time to join!
How can we seize the opportunity and make sure that #exponential #technologies are used in a positive way, solving our grandest challenges in the process?
Tech-entrepreneur Jim Stolze will educate us on what it means to be an exponential leader. How we can embrace change, grow, live our purpose and start making a difference?
Some say it is the ultimate fantasy for hardcore gamers. Others will argue that it is a brilliant smokescreen from Mark Zuckerberg. And there is a group of people that predict that this will finally fix the problems that Web 2.0 brought along: Web 3.0, or the Metaverse.
🔸But what does this mean for businesses?
🔸What can we learn from the experiments by Heineken, Gucci and Nike so far?
Jim Stolze will take you for a rollercoaster ride across the latest developments so that you can decide for yourself.
