Usva - Cultureel Studentencentrum Welcome to the Cultural Student Center of Groningen! Come to one of our events, join a course or become part of our crew!

Bij Usva kun je allerlei cursussen volgen op het gebied van kunst en cultuur. Ook organiseren we evenementen en zijn er wekelijks toffe voorstellingen te zien in ons theater. Daarnaast ondersteunt Usva studenten die een cultureel project op poten willen zetten, op zowel op financieel gebied als facilitair gebied en met kennis en kunde. Naast dit aanbod is er ook de mogelijkheid om zalen of het theater te huren.

Pick a colour on the afternoon itself, based on what you are here for:
🔴 Red: I just want to be here with my partner, or the person/people I came with.
🟠Orange: I’m looking for new friends.
🟢Green: I’m looking for potential dates as well.

This means you can come with your partner, your friends, or all by yourself! Everyone is welcome to get a drink and draw whatever you want. Whether you want to change papers every 15 minutes with your date, draw each other to the best of your abilities or take a colouring page and stay between the lines. We hope to see you there!

We moeten praten over de politie

In mei 2025 gaat CONTRA van Wabi Sabi Theater in premiere. CONTRA is een voorstelling over de politie en politie-agenten. Wat betekent het om de wet te handhaven in een wereld vol chaos? Hoe blijf je mens in een systeem dat kraakt?

Tijdens deze work-in-progress-avond in Usva gaan studenten in gesprek met de maker Maarten Smit en met politie-agent Joël Feliz.

Je zou ze kunnen kennen van hun comedyoptredens in OMG Groningen, Toomler, Club Haug, enzovoorts, etc… maar waarschijnlijk ken je Teun en Jet niet. Dit willen ze ook graag zo houden. Maar als je wil lachen zouden ze het desondanks wel aanraden om te komen kijken bij hun dubbelshow Teun en Jet: Het ligt echt niet allemaal aan ons (De Try-out). Want het lijkt echt wel heel leuk te gaan worden.

Grab a drink, draw whatever you like or pick one of our colouring pages and enjoy! Creativity is for everyone so don’t be shy and stop by as it is free entrance for all.

The first week of March is dedicated to the mental health of students, and during this well-being week, we would like to open up the floor for honest conversations about this topic. Are you a student and do you have a story to tell? Whether it is about losing someone close to you and the fall-out of such an event, feelings of loneliness, depression, or other mental health issues that you faced, please let us know.

On the 3rd or 4th of March, we would like to host an event during which others can ask you questions about your experience and how you dealt with the bad moments in your life. This way we hope to bring more awareness and hope to start conversations in which students can learn more about mental health issues or even feel less alone, as so many of us struggle with something.

If you are interested in sharing your story, and feel comfortable talking about it, send an email to: [email protected]. We believe mental health should never be stigmatised.

The ongoing participation project OUR EXQUISITE CO**SE visualizes the endless waiting lists. A cadavre exquis is a poem or a drawing made up of multiple segments by different people to form an, often barely legible, end result. OUR EXQUISITE CO**SE is such a cadavre exquis, but time-based. We welcome everyone to contribute one or more tiles to a quilt spanning several meters. You keep track of how much time you spend on the tiles. Seconds, minutes or hours, as long as you want. All these minutes are added up. We keep going until we reach 1.314.900 minutes. 21.900 hours. 912 days. 130 weeks. 30 months.
