Welcome to the Cultural Student Center of Groningen! Come to one of our events, join a course or become part of our crew!
Bij Usva kun je allerlei cursussen volgen op het gebied van kunst en cultuur. Ook organiseren we evenementen en zijn er wekelijks toffe voorstellingen te zien in ons theater. Daarnaast ondersteunt Usva studenten die een cultureel project op poten willen zetten, op zowel op financieel gebied als facilitair gebied en met kennis en kunde. Naast dit aanbod is er ook de mogelijkheid om zalen of het theater te huren.

Van 12 t/m 16 augustus zal de KEI-week weer in Groningen zijn! En zoals altijd organiseert Usva een aantal geweldige evenementen
Op dinsdag kan je in ons theater battlen tijdens de Lasergame Night 💥 Op woensdag middag kan je relaxen bij de kleimibo en vervolgens in de avond losgaan bij het Culture Quest Fest! Op donderdag kan je een biertje drinken of muziek maken bij onze klassieke Jam Sessie 🎸

From the 12th until the 16th of August Groningen will host the KEI-week again! And as usual Usva is organizing some amazing events during this week.
On Tuesday you can battle during our Lasergame night 💥 On Wednesday you can relax during our Clay Cafe or enjoy fun culture quests like just dance or acting at the Culture Quest Fest! And finally on Thursday you can come get a beer at our Jam Session 🎸
In addition to this we will also be at the KEI infomarkt, Time to Talk, More to Explore and the Open Air Festival 🌟

KEI-week 2024 🌟
Will you be joining again this summer? Become EVENT-crew during the KEI-week!
In August the KEI-week will take place again! As a member of the EVENT-crew you will
meet many new people, be welcome at all KEI-events and help make KEI-week the best
week of the summer. Come help out during the KEI-week, for example by scanning tickets or
setting up the backstage of a big event. In addition, on the Saturday before the KEI-week we
will be enjoying a legendary crewday with all our crewmembers! Sign up alone or together

This year it is also possible to sign up together with your
team/sorority/fraternity/housemates/friend group. By doing so, you have a chance at winning
VIP tickets to the Final Party for your whole group! VIP at the Final Party includes the

Today we’ll highlight the last three committees you can join next year!
🎭 Usva Awards: as the Usva award committee you get to go to a lot of amazing theatre, music and dance shows of the cultural associations of Groningen! You will judge these, select demos and organize an amazing award show around this 🌟
👩🎨 PR: this is a relatively new committee at Usva. PR includes all kinds of external promotion, but mostly focuses on making designs, taking pictures, and going to infomarkets. Are you a true creative? PR is the place for you!
🎞️ Flicks: are you a film lover? Then the Flicks committee is for you! Flicks organises the yearly flicks film festival, which includes short films from all over the world. You get to select these, think about a themes, select judges and organize some great evenings!

Quiz: The quiz committee is responsible for organizing the pubquizzes and theatre quizzes in Usva. Do you have a wide knowledge of niche facts? The quiz committee is the committee for you! 💥
Band: The Usva Band performs at the monthly Usva Jam Session! The Band rehearses every week. The band usually consists of a singer, one or two guitarists, a bassist and a drummer. However, all instruments are welcome to audition! 🎶

Turn on your headlights and get ready for UsFest’s ‘Off-Track’ Evening Programme, which brings a unique mix of bands and musical experiences 🌄
Immerse yourself in the rhythms of:
Basement Four: Coming from different musical backgrounds, the members of Basement Four found their collective groove during weekly jams in the basement of a music school in Groningen, resulting in a unique combination of rap, R&B, jazz and accordion influences.
Bitterlemon: Blends indie rock with synth pop and tops it off with a dose of melancholy. The band takes listeners on a dreamy journey with big layers of guitars and synths.
Lange Mannen Met Haast: Guitarist Joost Meijer and percussionist Joek Parmentier bring Dutch-language poetic indie-pop with a touch of cabaret. Their playful music makes the audience laugh, cry, and experience everything in between.
Ioana Iorgu: An independent music producer, a self-taught guitarist and drummer based in Groningen, Ioana creates an unsettling yet absorbing atmosphere with dissonant post-punk guitars and bone-dry hunting drums that directly contrast the softly spoken cold lyrics.

DWAAS: A trio theatre collective presents “The Consolation Prize,” a 30-minute interactive RAVE exploring the meaning of comfort and the best way to offer or receive it.
Solstice Theatre: An international amateur theatre society, whose performance ‘A Talk in the Park’, is about five strangers who desperately seek connection with one another while they comically fail to realize what human connection really entails.
Room for Improvement: An improv comedy group that transforms audience suggestions into hilarious, fully improvised shows. Don’t miss their end-of-year finale for a night of laughter and surprises.
Stranger Things Have Happened: An improv comedy group that has been delivering laughs for over 15 years. With your suggestions guiding the way, expect a night of unpredictable fun and laughter that’ll keep you on your toes!
Bollywood dance: Dancers from India and Pakistan will take the stage and fill it with energy, passion, emotion, and energy as they dance to the groove of Bollywood music.
