Last week Adrian Crowley’s newest album ‘Measure of Joy’ was released and got some rave reviews. ‘Measure of Joy’ is a nocturnal album. Not in the usual commonplace sense of dark and moody though it can be. The night is present in the sounds that can only be noticed when most things rest. In the lost transmission and the ghost lips that talk on the phone over sleepy jazz.

‘As good an album as he’s ever released, Crowley just seems to get better and better’ is the conclusion that weblog No More Workhorse writes. Adrian Crowley will perform on Peel Slowly And See on March the 21st.

Luitist Jozef van Wissem brak bij het grote publiek door toen hij voor Jim Jarmusch’ film ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’ de muziek verzorgde. En hoewel hij de middeleeuwse luit bespeeld, is zijn muziek allesbehalve middeleeuws; die is spannend, confronterend en bij vlagen luid. Met een d, welteverstaan.

Renowned Dutch avant-garde composer and lutenist playing his all black, one-of-a-kind custom-made baroque lute all around the world. The world learned to know him trough the score he made for Jim Jarmusch' film 'Only Lovers Left Alive'. And although the lute is a medieval instrument, his music isn't. It's exciting and confronting music.

The Rotterdam based musician Arp Frique returns to Leiden as Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers: a new journey, channeling a love for organic, funk-based music, filled with obscure synths and bubbly basslines with their newest influence: gospel-disco. The Perpetual Singers, a stellar gospel group with Brandon Delagraentiss and Rocq-E Harrell, who worked with some of the biggest names on the planet (Stevie Wonder, Barry White, Earth, Wind & Fire to name a few).
