My musical voyage began with an eclectic taste in EDM, ranging from the wobbly basslines of dubstep to the smooth grooves of future bass and trap. As my tastes evolved, so did my love for the genre, expanding into the realms of hardstyle, house, and tech house. It wasn't long before the electric atmosphere of festivals captivated me, drawing me deeper into the harder edges of the EDM scene.
The turning point came four years ago when I discovered techno. Immersing myself in the sounds of mainstream DJs and producers initially, my affection for the genre deepened after attending my first hard techno event, PACT. It was there, amidst the relentless beats and unyielding energy, that I found my true calling. Hard Techno, Industrial Techno, and Schranz not only resonated with me but also inspired me to create music that echoed my newfound love.

Born and raised in Limburg and currently residing in Maasmechelen, I am an artist who thrives on creativity, with a deep-seated passion for drawing, music, and all forms of art. My connection to nature deeply influences my work, offering me a tranquil backdrop against which my creativity can flourish.

My inspiration is as spontaneous as it is profound, springing forth from the depths of my imagination to be realized on the canvas. This creative process began in my early childhood; I have been wielding pencils and brushes since the tender age of three or four, finding solace and expression in the art I created. Although there was a brief hiatus in my artistic journey, my fervor for art rekindled in 2019, marking a new chapter in my creative pursuits.

When it comes to technique, I embrace spontaneity, allowing my hands to move freely, guided by intuition and emotion in the moment. This approach, devoid of premeditated techniques, ensures that each piece is unique and a genuine manifestation of my inner state.

Compound Rhythm embarked on his voyage into electronic music in 2004 with the purchase of his first turntables, greatly influenced by Dutch trance DJs. Over time, his interest transitioned from trance to deep-house, ultimately finding Techno, the genre that he resonates with the most, in 2015. He got the opportunity to host 'Good Times Radio', a weekly radio show on Amsterdams Most Wanted, a task he still enjoys after six years. Fast forward to 2019, Compound Rhythm made a monumental leap, becoming a resident at EAST Techno Collective. This pulsating weekly event was born at Panama Amsterdam and now rocks every Thursday at Club Roots and regularly at Paradiso Amsterdam. Reaching a thrilling pinnacle in his career, Compound Rhythm made his debut at the legendary club Paradiso Amsterdam during EAST Techno Collective XL in the summer of 2022.
