Join Lady Bag, drag performer, bag collector, and bag whisperer extraordinaire, for a playful dive into how bags move us. In thissession, we’ll explore object-oriented movement through our everyday bags. Bring your own—any bag will do—and get ready for an embodied exploration of Bagistics, where obsessions leads to moving and carrying turns into choreography.

This is evening is part of the Data Diva Training Programma. Each week there will be another training session.
Before and after the session you can go into our Common Bread Sauna.

Snuffelworkshops Beeldhouwen met Frits Strijbosch

Van 11.00 tot 13.00 uur kun je er uitproberen of “werken in steen” iets voor jou is.

Leer gereedschappen kennen en gebruiken en voelen hoe een steen reageert op jou. Het is écht werken en ontdekken van een nieuwe, onvoorspelbare wereld.

Genoeg uitgedaagd ?

Wij zorgen voor de spullen en jij brengt ’n beetje durf en doorzettingsvermogen mee.

Vanaf 14 jaar.

Ruim 30 jaar al is Frits Strijbosch als beeldhouwer met beitels, raspen en vijlen aan het werk.

Begonnen aan de Vrije Academie in Rotterdam, vervolgde hij zijn opleiding in Arendonk (B) Specialisatie beeldhouwen. Zijn werk is zowel abstract als figuratief en in vele materialen, die overigens uitsluitend ambachtelijk bewerkt worden. Afstand nemen en véél kijken zijn zijn belangrijkste aanwijzingen.

We provide the equipment, and you bring a little daring and perseverance.

Ages 14 and up.

Frits Strijbosch has been working as a sculptor with chisels, rasps, and files for over 30 years. He started at the Vrije Academie in Rotterdam and continued his training in Arendonk (B), specializing in sculpture. His work is both abstract and figurative and uses many materials, all of which are processed exclusively by hand. Taking a step back and looking closely are his most important instructions.

NO BUSINESS AS USUAL

Wij, leden van de Nederlandse en Belgische cultuursector, wensen niet langer aan de zijlijn te blijven staan van oorlogsmisdaden, misdaden tegen de menselijkheid en een door alle gezaghebbende instituties erkende genocide op het Palestijnse volk.Met onmiddellijke ingang, en in navolging van aanhoudende oproepen van Palestijnse kunstenaars en de Palestijnse samenleving, stellen wij een culturele boycot in van de Israëlische staat en van alle Israëlische instellingen en bedrijven. Uitgezonderd zijn organisaties die niet medeplichtig zijn aan schendingen van het internationaal recht en zich ondubbelzinnig hebben uitgesproken tegen de genocide, de juridisch illegaal verklaarde bezetting en de apartheid. De boycot is expliciet niet gericht op individuen of hun afkomst, dus ook niet op Joden, of op Israëli’s als zodanig, maar op de medeplichtigheid van Israëlische instellingen en bedrijven aan de mensenrechtenschendingen jegens de Palestijnen.

Zo kun je jouw favoriete kledingstuk tot in het oneindige opnieuw fabriceren.✨

By making a re-usable pattern, you'll be able to re-make your favorite piece of clothing at any time. ✨

#2 FLINTA* Sauna (research nights) at Buitenplaats Brienenoord 🦄🪻⚧️🪷 

Through the FLINTA* Sauna (research nights), we would like to collectively explore what rest means for the uncommon common body. When do you feel truly rested? Who taught you what resting looked like? Join us as we playfully and 'rest'fully delve into such questions with pizza, sauna and more!

For part #2 we’d like to explore a little side-quest:

What is the meaning of shelter in relation to rest?

Summer has come to an end. Autumn is easing in chilly winds & rainy days. We go inward. Prepare for the rest and reflection ahead of us. For the body to rest, we need to make space to do so. It’s time to make shelter. A place to lay one's head in peace.  
This event is open ONLY to FLINTA* people.

FLINTA* is a German acronym that translates to women, le****ns, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people. The asterisk signifies the inclusion of all non-binary gender identities, aiming to create safe spaces for those facing gender-based discrimination.

Open call! 

We invite artists who would like to give an hour workshop on "Boundaries". We round up We Came from the Future mini residency on the 25th of October for this year by inviting you to explore this theme with us and others. What do boundaries truly mean for you, how do they manifest themselves in your life? How can you rethink them?

All mediums are welcome however more hands on workshop applications are encouraged for this edition! 

If you are interested, please apply with a description of your practice (200 words max) and a proposition for the workshop (150 words max). Send your applications before October 5th 11.59 to Urvee at [email protected] 

To help you think along with us, here is our theme and central questions for this residency: 

A real or imaginary limit- in which spheres do we encounter boundaries? How do they impact the personal, the political, the natural? To what extent do we let these dictate our behaviour, our norms and our systems?
