Omdat ik mijn passie voor koken graag met jullie wil delen, organiseer ik op donderdag 8, vrijdag 9 en zaterdag 10 februari 3 exclusieve Chef’s Table Experiences bij ons thuis. In vier smakelijke gangen neem ik jullie mee op culinair avontuur. My ❤️ on a plate!
De prijs per persoon is €45, inclusief welkomstdrankje, fris en een kopje koffie of thee. Wil je reserveren of heb je vragen? Stuur even een persoonlijk berichtje. Aan onze gezellige, lange tafel is er per avond plek voor 8 gasten, dus wacht niet te lang! Bij minimaal 5 aanmeldingen gaat de avond door!

In between the new projects and experiments cakes are still being crafted here at A Spoonful of Sugar.
I especially love to draw inspiration from personal items, such as the birth card or a favourite stuffed animal. In this case, Puk’s beautiful subtle card inspired a calm and natural cake. I loved making it and mom’s reaction when I revealed it, was the cherry on top! Congratulations Marjolijn van Elleswijk! Thank you for the lovely assignmen

Reality: some cakes come together more easily than others. Most of my customers trust me so much that they give me complete control over a design within a certain theme. Usually my creativity flows freely, but this week I’ve been experiencing a little writer’s block… we got there in the end, it just took a while to get there.
This cake however, Emily’s first one (of many, if it’s up to me 🩷) was a different story. A clear colour brief, a few examples and all the confidence in the world that I’d make it beautiful. A challenge, sure, but that confidence gave me wings and the cake turned out even prettier than all of us expected. So grateful for you guys Congratulations with your little girl 😘

S F O U F
This sunny Lebanese treat is made with the humblest ingredients: four, semolina, sugar, milk and yeast. And patience. It’s lifted to the next level by a pinch of turmeric and the orange blossom syrup that’s poured over it right after baking. Its literally the sun on a plate! And it’s also my mom’s favourite. So here’s to you on your special day mom ❤️ and here’s to all moms, to human or fur babies, moms that have lost their baby and those who desperately want to become a mom. Happy Mother’s Day

G R O W T H
Not five years ago I struggled to come up with a gluten- and lactose-free treat for one of the guests at a wedding. Of course these past few years a lot has changed and improved in allergen-friendly and vegan ingredients. But that’s not all that’s changed. I’ve learned such a great deal about plant-based cooking, about the chemistry of baking and about food in general. Not in a million years would I have thought to be able to create an entire gluten-free and plant-based wedding cake, but here it is.
Soft and moist lemon cake layers, filled with coconut whipped cream and passion fruit curd and decorated with Roombeter vanilla buttercream.
I couldn’t be more proud of the growth and progress I’ve made and I couldn’t be more grateful to my beautiful and supportive customers who push me out of my comfort zone and trust that I can pull this off!

Kicking off wedding season 2023 with this natural beauty! On the outside, a subtle semi-naked design with fresh cut flowers in the colours of the wedding invitation. On the I nside, an all time favourite: “La Vie en Rose”, light and airy champagne sponge cake, rich mascarpone mousse, homemade raspberry compote and pops of fresh raspberries 😋

Lieve community,
Na 7 jaar alleen m’n weg vinden in ondernemersland, is het tijd voor iets nieuws.
Velen van jullie weten al dat wij heel fijn samenwerken met .la.damaris in Zaltbommel. Vanaf 20 maart krijg het restaurant er een zusje bij: .cantine.a.la.minute En dàt wordt vanaf 20 maart op maandag en dinsdag mijn vaste honk!
Naast bakken mag ik er aan het werk met the first and biggest love of my life: heerlijk plantaardig koken!
À la Minute is gevestigd in de prachtige historische Waag aan de Markt 15 te Zaltbommel.
Je kunt bij ons straks koffie, zoete lekkernijen, lunch en (avond) maaltijden afhalen. Maar we zullen ook een aantal tafeltjes binnen en buiten hebben staan, zodat je gezellig wat langer kunt blijven, allemaal in midden-oosterse sferen.
Volg .la.damaris en .cantine.a.la.minute om de hoogte te blijven van de laatste ontwikkelingen!
Dit betekent uiteraard veranderingen voor A Spoonful of Sugar. Dit zijn de voornaamste:
- We stoppen met activiteiten op locatie. Dus geen bruiloften, sweet tables of bezorgingen meer.
- Bestellingen kunnen enkel nog opgehaald worden op donderdag en vrijdag en op zaterdagochtend in overleg.
- Er zal minder ruimte in de agenda zijn voor taart, dus wacht niet met het plaatsen van je bestelling. Voor je het weet zijn we volgeboekt!
- Telefonisch zal ik lastiger te bereiken zijn, dus vragen en bestellingen kan je het beste sturen via whatsapp, DM of via mail. Contactgegevens vind je in de bio. Ik reageer zo snel mogelijk.
Dank jullie wel voor alle mooie bestellingen, avonturen, prachtige bruiloften, lieve woorden, het vertrouwen en de vriendschappen die zijn ontstaan in deze eerste fase van mijn reis!
Ik neem jullie graag mee op dit nieuwe pad en ik kijk er ontzettend naar uit jullie vaak te mogen verwelkomen in “Ma Cantine”!

It’s been a little quiet around here. That’s because we are very busy “off the gram” with this turning out to be our busiest June yet! I’ve been meaning to post this beautiful butterfly cake for a while now, so here it is. This one was for dear ‘s birthday and since she didn’t get to celebrate last year we made this one extra special with vanilla and passion fruit curd, inspired by her favourite cocktail.

This colourful wedding cake we made for a lovely small wedding on April first. April Fool’s, but don’t be fooled: despite not having traditional wedding rings, they really did get married! Fun, unconventional and full of love are some words to describe this day. And it was such an honour to be a part of it. Dear and Arjan congrats ont tying the knot 😘😘😘
