REVIEW ❤️

Wat een prachtige review kreeg ik van Jeroen en Nienke. Ik vond dit een superleuk traject met hen, want ze wisten heel goed wat ze absoluut niet wilden (Jeroen had een hele duidelijk NEE op tuttig kant en Nienke wilde vooral niet overdrijven). Maarja, wat dan wel? Komt nog eens bij dat ze ook niet goed wisten wat er allemaal mogelijk was, wat ook logisch is.

Het leuke hiervan is dat ik juist even verder moest kijken naar wat er achter hun wensen zit. Het is heel makkelijk om een standaard programma uit te rollen en alleen te kijken naar wat mooi is qua styling. Maar mijn doel is om mensen echt hun bruiloft te laten beleven, zoals dat bij hen past. Door goed door te vragen zijn we op een hele fijne invulling van de dag gekomen met de juiste ondersteunende leveranciers en een sfeer die helemaal bij hen past. ❤️😍

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ❤️

He’s still my Valentine. 💖 We’ve been together for over 30 years and married for 13. We don’t always do something special for Valentine’s Day—often it depends on how busy we are or if we can come up with something fun. After so many years, it can be a bit challenging. But every now and then, one of us surprises the other, and it’s truly special. And even if we don’t surprise each other on Valentine’s Day, we know we love each other through the little things we do.

For our kids, this is a time for making gifts for their loved ones. Our son, in classic fashion, is still figuring out what to do for his girlfriend at the moment we speak 😄 Meanwhile, our 7-year-old daughter, who already has a boyfriend, has crafted four gifts and notes. So sweet!

Whether big or small, every gesture is beautiful. Wishing you a wonderful, love-filled day. And for those secretly hoping for the big question, enjoy the anticipation! REVIEW 😘

What a wonderful couple this was! The beginning of their relationship and their engagement was a beautiful story. I also immediately noticed that they had their own little quirks that are really characteristic of who they are as a couple.

However, they couldn’t quite figure out what they wanted. They had already visited a lot of venues and requested quotes. The venues were also very different in terms of atmosphere and appearance. Not a bad thing in itself, because sometimes you discover what you really like this way. But they actually liked “everything” and therefore couldn’t make a choice.

I started working with them on a wedding design by beginning with an extensive brainstorming session. I always brainstorm along with the couple, because often they don’t see what is very obvious, and I point those things out. 😊

By the end of the afternoon, when we started clustering the ideas, a beautiful recurring theme emerged, and it suddenly became very clear. I worked all of this out into a wedding concept, including a mood board. In this, I describe where the ideas come from and how this can be translated into, among other things, the type of venue, the program, the atmosphere, and the styling. This was then used as a guideline for the actual organization of the wedding. It’s incredibly rewarding work when you can help people with such an important day in their lives. ❤️🥰

DETAILS 🍒

Yes, that’s me! Working on some details. Preferably everything is perfect. Because my biggest fear is that my bride and groom are not happy with something during their wedding.

The reality is that most bridal couples wouldn’t even notice and if they did, they wouldn’t care. Celebrating their love with the most important people there with them is what it’s all about.❤️

So don’t sweat the small stuff. I’ll do that for you. 😉

EMERGENCY KIT 💪⚡️🚨

As a Wedding Coördinator you have to be prepared for just about anything. So I carry my suitcase full of things to save the day with me everywhere. So, what do I take with me on every wedding? ⬇️

✨ Medicine and wound care products:
Everyday medications, such as paracetamol, antacids and soothing remedies for insect bites. I also always have an aspivenin with me to suck out a bite or sting. And of course, plasters, wound gauze, scissors and tweezers.

✨ Anti choking device:
One of my biggest fears is always that someone will choke. That’s why I carry an anti-suffocation device in case the heimlich doesn’t work. When I say it like this, it feels a bit exaggerating. But better safe than sorry.

✨ Needle and thread:
A loose button or someone ripping out of their suit. It can be prevented by having your clothes tailor-made, but it can still happen. That’s why I always have a needle and thread with me. Credit to my mother, who taught me how to quickly fix a tear.

✨ Stain remover:
I always advise the groom to bring an extra shirt. But of course it doesn’t work that way for the bride. That’s why I always have a stain remover with me, in case a stain unexpectedly occurs or if the train gets very dirty during the photo shoot.

✨ Fastening materials:
Pins, tape, string...you never know when they’ll come in handy, so I always have them with me.

✨ Refreshers and touch-ups:
A wedding is quite intensive for the bridal couple. You move, dance, kiss and hug. I’ll check in once in a while whether everything is still in order and whether you still smell fresh. I also have everything with me for that: deodorant, nail glue, a nail file, lip balm, hair spray and sunscreen etc.

✨ For the ladies:
Of course, I have feminine hygiene products with me and, yes, even clean underwear. There is nothing more annoying than an unexpected period. 😖

These items are not just for the bride and groom but also for their guests and suppliers. Of course, I hope I never need to use these products, but I’d rather carry them unnecessarily a thousand times than be unprepared when someone needs help. 😁

KEEP YOUR COOL AND YOUR FEET WARM♨️

Sometimes everything seems so perfect in wedding pictures especially on Social Media, but in the end we’re all just human beings. During preparations, as a bride you’ll be sitting still for 2 hours for your hair and makeup. And then you might start feeling quite cold. Add some nerves to that mix and before you know it, you’re sitting completely tense in that makeup chair.

So just put on some warm, cozy socks and some easy slippers. It might look a little less charming, but at least you’ll feel comfortable. 😉 Just make sure the socks don’t leave marks on your legs. It often takes a long time for those marks to disappear. That’s why loose, thick slouch socks are ideal. ❤️

YOU DON’T HAVE TO… 🫨

Everyone has their own ideas about what MUST be done at a wedding. How it’s supposed to be. But actually, you don’t have to do anything…well, that’s not entirely true…if you’re getting legally married, the officiant has to ask certain things and it’s desirable that you both say “yes”.😉 But even that isn’t necessary if you’re only having a ceremonial wedding.

It might be difficult because you have certain ideas about it, as does your fiancé, and maybe also your family and friends. A wedding has certain fixed elements, right?! Traditionally, yes, but that’s not necessary at all.

You don’t have to prepare separately, you don’t need to have a first look, you don’t have to be given away, your guests don’t have to sit in rows, you don’t need to have a reception, you don’t need to toast with champagne, you don’t have to throw your bouquet. The only thing you must do (but actually may) is to do it the way you want.

This is Wettina, also known as Tinus from@tinusmaakthetmooi. I love working with Tinus. Somehow, she understands my sometimes vague ideas very well with just a few words. I usually make a description of a concept with a mood board attached. And then she gets to work. When she shows me what she's working on it's always spot on right away and often even more beautiful than I could have imagined.💕 Really bizarre and fun at the same time. 😉

Besides being very good at her work, she's also super nice and down to earth. In the sometimes chaotic preparation, she works calmly and steadily. Really someone you can rely on. ❤️

WEDDING PLANNER IN ACTION🙃
Actually, I should say: master of ceremonies or wedding coördinator in action. My work consists of various components, and being a master of ceremonies is just one of them. Before the wedding even takes place, I spend a lot of time with and for the couple. We start with the design of the wedding. I see this not only as something aesthetic, but also the program, communication, and atmosphere are important parts of the design. Once the basic design is complete, I get to work bringing the design to life. I find the right wedding suppliers and together we bring it all together through good coördination and a clear script. ❤️

LEATHER WEDDING 🥰

Look at this fantastic, beautiful, and loving couple—married for three years now. I had the honor of helping them with the organization and on the day itself. I have special memories of them and their wedding. They had so much faith in me, and they are so open, generous, and sometimes a little bit crazy. 😉 It was an incredibly fun and special time, despite the COVID rollercoaster.
