New update on my photoblog; my second love - street photography.

One of today's stars - NY. I was visiting the City in November and had plenty of time to photograph. Every time, this place gives me such energy I can only describe in my photographs. So, grab your coffee, tea (or whatever you are drinking now) and enjoy the walk.

"The way someone who's being photographed presents himself to the camera, and the effect of the photographer's response on that presence, is what the making of a portrait is all about."
Richard Avedon

Sunday worship.
Swipe to see seamless carousel. Humans naked body alert!
"Isn't art about breaking rules, about challenging existing systems, isn't it about discovering meaning in things or situations before others see anything in them?"
Peter Lindbergh

"I always prefer to work in the studio. It isolates people from their environment. They become in a sense… symbolic of themselves. I often feel that people come to me to be photographed as they would go to a doctor or a fortune-teller - to find out how they are".
Richard Avedon
"The day Olga took pictures of me, I was amazed by how quickly I felt comfortable by the way she approached me with her camera.
Because of her jokes and her free and gentle way of guiding me through the session, I felt I could really open up, which help me to get out of my comfort zone.
And so it happened that the pictures turned out to a very beautiful result of an amazing day and experience with her. The way she is and the way she works the camera are an amazing combination of a great artist that she is."
Neina

This photo shoot shows the different approaches to photographing yoga teachers. I was very happy that both women were so open to my ideas. Together we showed that such a session does not have to be boring and the same as in every magazine.

"Beauty and the devil are the same thing."
Robert Mapplethorpe
These two goddesses gave me a little lesson in how to feel fantastic in my own skin. An unforgettable meeting where we created something totally timeless together.

“All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.”
― Susan Sontag

“The key is to photograph your obsession, whether that’s old people’s hands or skyscrapers. Think of a blank canvas, because that’s what you’ve got, and then think about what you want to see. Not anyone else.”
David LaChapelle

“A picture is a secret about a secret, the more it tells you the less you know.”
Diane Arbus
Isn't it fantastic that no one really will know who you are, what your desires are and how you would like to represent yourself, because the woman photographer will create with you such illusions that only you and she will know the truth, and the secret is that each has two sides.

“Every image is in some way a “portrait”, not in the way it would reproduce the traits of a person, but in that in pulls and draws (this is the semantic and etymological sense of the word), in that it extracts something, an intimacy, a force”
Sally Mann
When I look at a photographed person, I often forget who they are. Both the light and the moment make it possible for me to discover something new. This is perhaps the most beautiful thing in the whole process: painting with light anew.

I miss some people in my life. Especially strong, beautiful and talented women like Y. I do believe that our roads will cross again. Till that time.

“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.”
Andy Warhol
I like to witness this process. Create an alternative image of the photographed person. Women are so inspirational, little things add to their appearance and they can change while staying the same at the same time.

“When you pose for a photograph, it’s behind a smile that isn’t yours. You are angry and hungry and alive. What I value in you is that intensity. I want to make portraits as intense as people”.
Richard Avedon
People are my biggest inspiration. I will repeat it all over.
It's hard to describe in words what an artist sees in ordinary scenery when the light falls on a person until you see the result (print/digital copy).
I like to be like a fly on the wall: you don't pay that much attention to me until I shout "please, do not move. I like when you are you. But I will always add my spice to that.

To photograph open-minded people, who can play with their image without any shame - it's my desire.
Here are some older portraits I have made, still on film. Never-ending inspiration.

“It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like; it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.”
Paul Caponigro
Each photo session is different. The people who stand in front of my camera are all unique.
Sometimes It’s a hard job to get through their wall and be able to show person's character.

I&R invited me for their wedding day, but they didn’t want to have cliche wedding pictures.

We clicked on many levels and in this way I was able to create timeless photographs. What's more important than that?
