Since 2004 The Garden of Vegan is serving vegan catering, with the goal of making dairy free food a desirable, ethical & delicious choice for everyone. Variety is what makes our menu's inclusive and appealing to all kind of people. It took us many years to master the secrets on how to prepare meat & cheese replacements, as well as 'saucy' veggie recipes. We have tried, we have failed, we have succ

eeded.. but we have always enjoyed the ride! Our golden rules is 'take your time'. Preparing good food is an experience that deserves savoring, and simply cannot be rushed. Everything we cook is home prepared, cared for from shopping to plating, and special attention is given to what the seasons have to offer. Just like our cuisine style, we have been 'all over the place'. It started in 2004 with the opening of the very first vegan cafe' in the ACU venue, Utrecht center. Then came Rampenplan, Waku Waku, VanPlanten, Vegan Bamboo Bar, Molen de Ster, Mr Vegan, small places, big places, weddings, birthday parties, festivals, tapas, high teas, private dinners.. After all we live in a big world, where there is always somewhere new to discover and new food to cook ❤

Fermented mushrooms and raw courgette salad, a great combination of healthy and tasty food.

We added a few drops of pesto and some crushed pepper as a finishing touch.

Sponge cake with a creamy filling of lemon custard and citrus butter frosting. We added some home made lime jellies for extra flavor 🍋

The cake was part of a large buffet we served at restaurant Anafora in Vleuten for the wedding of two wonderful people.

An amazing visit , where we learned about the properties of these extraordinary fungi.

Lion's mane, oyster mushrooms and many others, all grown from spores on home made soil.

We can't wait to try them for our catering service! 😍 🍄

We are opening this year with a picture of our last 2023 catering, a 4 course dinner for in Zeist ✨

The maincourse is composed by curry potato cream, crispy tempeh, roasted pumpkin, cardamom wild spinach salad, rajita and homemade pickles.

Our Story

Plant based caterer since 2004, we have always aimed to promote vegan as a desirable and tasty food choice.

Our cuisine is attractive for all kind of people, in order to show our customers that feeding can be ethical, healthy and delicious at the same time.

All this much before it became a trend!

Through the years, we have experimented and learned many secrets on how to prepare meat and cheese alternatives as well as attractive vegetable based recipes, often proposing innovative ingredients and meeting the favor of our clientèle.

In particular, we have completely avoided all kind of pre-cooked food and micro wave ovens. Food is an experience that deserves time and attention and cannot be rushed. Everything we cook is home prepared, cared for from shopping to plating, and special attention is given to what the seasons have to offer.

Our cuisine has come to include a wide range of tastes spacing between all kind of different ethnic cooking styles.

For 15 years we have run the very first and one of the most popular Vegan cafe’s in Utrecht at ACU.

Besides, our chef has gain full experience by participating to other projects, such as being part of the Waku Waku kitchen management and launching the VanPlanten restaurant. After only few months from the opening, her work at Vanplanten was credited with a second place at the Vegan Awards 2019. At present, she has joined the newly born project Vegan Bamboo Bar.

Since few years, we are dedicating our attention to catering.

Between the more popular events we have organized we cannot fail to mention the ongoing tapas dinners at Molen de Ster, where we present a rich seasonal buffet. We have catered an acclaimed dinner at the Oud Stadhuis, along with wedding, birthday and graduation buffets, ethnic dinners, business lunches, high tea events and more.
