Kom je ook? Het slotconcert is inmiddels uitverkocht, maar op zaterdagmiddag ben je van harte welkom in de tuinen aan De Gast! Het festival is gratis toegankelijk ✨

Spontane muziek in acht tuinen van Zuidhorn. Daar draait het 7 en 8 juni om bij festival Jazz te Gast. De hoofdgast is de Israëlische trompettist Avishai Cohen, die samen met Tijn Wybenga een uitdagend programma met improvisatiemuziek heeft samengesteld.

Op zaterdagmiddag 8 juni geven wereldberoemde jazzmuzikanten, Nederlandse bands, jong talent en het Noordpool Orkest een serie unieke concerten in de sprookjesachtige tuinen aan De Gast in Zuidhorn. 🌸 Kom langs en struin op je gemak van tuin naar tuin, geniet van een hapje en drankje van o.a. Wow... The final concert of Jazz te Gast is SOLD OUT! 🚀 But don't worry: you are very welcome to enjoy our *free* afternoon program. On Saturday afternoon, June 8th, world-famous jazz musicians, Dutch bands, young talent and the Noord Pool Orchestra perform in a series of unique concerts in the fairytale gardens at De Gast in Zuidhorn. 🌸 Come along and stroll from garden to garden, enjoy a snack and a drink from La Cuisine, Toffe Koffie and Rianne's Ice Cream Farm (among others) and listen to live music! ➡️ More information & program can be found on our website via the link in the bio!

𝐙𝐎𝐎𝐄 𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀 is playing at Jazz te Gast! ✨

“ZOOE” zou een onomatopee kunnen zijn voor het suiszen van het orgel van Dimitris Karkoulias. Samen met Sirach ter Veer op gitaar en Gabi Martei op slagwerk vormt Karkoulias het no-nonsense orgeltrio ZOOE. Groove en feel staan voorop bij dit trio, die al menig Groninger café op stelten heeft gezet.

“ZOOE”, it could be an onomatopeia for the ringing of Dimitri Karkoulias’ organ. Together with guitarist Sirach ter Veer and drummer Gabi Martei, he forms a no nonsense organ trio that puts groove and feel above anything else. Many a nightclub or café in Groningen has already fallen for their swinging charm.

Join a unique improvisation concert in Zuidhorn! // Doe mee met een uniek improvisatieconcert in Zuidhorn!

Op vrijdag 7 juni trapt het internationale jazzfestival Jazz te Gast af met een spetterend concert in hartje Zuidhorn! Om 16:00u klinkt overal in het dorp plotseling muziek. De muzikanten – van schoolkinderen tot professionials – lopen naar het Holtplein voor een wonderbaarlijk improvisatieconcert met de . Het concert staat onder leiding van dirigent Wouter Hakhoff.

On Friday, June 7, international jazz festival Jazz te Gast kicks off with a spectacular concert in the heart of Zuidhorn! At 4:00 PM, there's suddenly a blast of music all around the village. The musicians – from schoolchildren to professionals – walk to the Holtplein for a wonderous improvisation concert with the Amsterdam Klezmer Band. The concert is led by conductor Wouter Hakhoff.

Tenorsaxofonist Jasper Blom, bassist Sean Fasciani en drummer Felix Schlarmann stropen de hemdsmouwen op en pakken hun zonnebrillen erbij in hun nieuwe tribute band Wonderyears, waarin het oeuvre van Stevie Wonder centraal staat. De mannen noemen Wonder één van de meest creatieve muzikale geesten van de 20e eeuw, die ze willen eren in de bare-bones trioformatie.

Tenorsaxophonist Jasper Blom, bassist Sean Fasciani and drummer Felix Schlarmann roll up their sleeves and whip out their sunglasses for their new tribute band Wonderyears, celebrating the music of Stevie Wonder. They revere Wonder as one of the most creative musical minds of the 20th century and seek to honour his legacy in their bare-bones trio setup.

Het Snail Trail Trio bestaat uit Sarasvati Gričar (gitaar), J.T. Hwang (bas) en Hongshin Cho (drums). Het bandgeluid draait om bijzondere soundscapes, interactieve groove, verfijnde chaos en vrijwillige onvoorspelbaarheid. Deze slakken zijn niet sloom en blazen je omver met elektrische golven van vloeiende ritmiek.

The Snail Trail Trio is made up of Sarasvati Gricar on guitar, J.T. Hwang on bass, and Hongshin Cho on drums. Central pillars of their music are soundscapes, interactive groove, refined chaos, and purposeful unpredictability. These snails are anything but slow, and blow you away with electrical waves of rhythmic fluidity.

Jazz te Gast is een internationaal jazzfestival dat op zaterdag 8 juni plaatsvindt in het Groningse Zuidhorn. Wereldberoemde jazzmuzikanten, Nederlandse bands, jong talent en het Noordpool Orkest geven 's middags een serie bijzondere concerten in de tuinen van het dorp. 's Avonds is er een gezamenlijk slotconcert met nieuw werk.

Heb jij zin in een unieke muzikale ervaring, gratis toegang tot het slotconcert, heerlijk eten van de gastronomische Herberg Onder de Linden, een gaaf T-shirt én een goedgevulde goodiebag? Jazz te Gast is an international jazz festival on Saturday June 8th in Zuidhorn, Groningen. In the afternoon, world-famous jazz musicians are joined by Dutch bands, young talent and the Noordpool Orchestra for a series of special concerts in the village gardens. In the evening there is a final concert with new work.

Macha Saxophone Quartet nodigt je uit op een reis die elegantie, romantiek en de levendige ritmes van jazz naadloos combineert.
Bestaande uit vier uitzonderlijke musici, elk geworteld in de klassieke traditie en gedijend in de hedendaagse Nederlandse jazzscene, is Macha Saxophone Quartet een eerbetoon aan de kracht van muzikale fusie. 
Het repertoire van Macha Saxophone Quartet bestaat uit geliefde jazzklassiekers van grootheden als Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael en Thelonious Monk, tot gedurfde en experimentele composities. Het Quartet reist de gehele dag rond op en rond de hoofdstraat de Gast, waar je ze kan beluisteren.

Macha Saxophone Quartet invites you on a journey that seamlessly intertwines elegance, romance and the lively rhythms of jazz.
Consisting of four exceptional musicians, each deeply rooted in the jazz tradition and alive in the current, Dutch jazzscene, Macha Quartet honors the power of musical fusion.
The repertoire of this quartet ranges from jazz-classics by hero’s like Duke Ellingotn, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Thelonious Monk, to daring and experimental original compositions. The Macha Quartet will move around on ‘de Gast’ (the main street of Zuidhorn), where you can listen to them.
