8th IFIP WG5.15 Conference on Information Technology in Disaster Risk Reduction (ITDRR-2023)

4-6 December 2023, Tokyo, Japan(to be held in a hybrid mode.)

In cooperation with Tokai University, Japan

ITDRR-2023 provides an international forum for researchers and
practitioners to present their latest R&D findings and innovations. The
conference is especially focused on the various IT aspects and
challenges of coping with disaster risk reduction.

The organizers of this conference invite prospective authors to submit
high-quality research papers addressing, but not limited to, the
following topics of interest:

* Artificial Intelligence and disasters
* Climate change and disaster risk

* Cloud Computing in emergency management

* Emerging technology support for disaster risk reduction (Robotics,
UAV, Generative AI)
* Ethical issues arising from the technology usage for disasters
* Geographic Information Systems
* Hazard and vulnerability analysis
* ICT challenges in emergency management
* Integrated risk governance
* Mobile computing and emergency management
* Pandemic management
* Satellite imagery and remote sensing
* Security and privacy issues in disaster management
* Simulation and gaming for disaster management
* Situation awareness and common operational picture
* Social disasters
* Social media and disasters
* Socio-economic impacts of disasters
* Trust Issues in the disaster risk reduction context
* Universal design thinking for disaster risk reduction
* VR/AR technology application for disaster management and training

All accepted papers will be published in IFIP AICT series by Springer as
post-conference proceedings, and they will be indexed by Scopus.

Important Dates
* Paper Submission: 31 August 2023
* Notification of Acceptance: 30 October 2023
* Conference Date: 4-6 December 2023
* Camera Ready Paper: 15 February 2024

Submission Details:
* The total length of a paper should be 10 - 16 pages according to IFIP
AICT Guidelines (including tables, figures and references).
* For instructions for authors please check it up with the ITDRR2023
conference website for downloading the templates.
* Papers will be refereed and accepted on the basis of their scientific
merit and relevance to the conference.
* At least one author of an accepted paper must present it at the
conference on site or online.

The last session on 13 October was led by Lucia Castro Herrera. Sandeep Sharma presented Covid 19 Savdhan: Hanessing the Telecom Infrastructure for Covid-19 management. The last session was online. Mariano Martin presented Privacy by design in CBRN technologies targeted to vulnerable group. And we were lucky to have video back up plan as again the dialogue seems to be difficult in this hybrid mode.
