Ingrid of The Information Hub Mo i Rana is up next! Her thoughts on MINT?
"MINT represents the International Community in Mo I Rana. Everyone moving from another country to Mo I Rana needs a community, where you can connect with others. This is the purpose of an organization like MINT: Connecting internationals with locals through events in the community. For this reason, MINT is important for The Information Hub, where MINT is an active partner in creating inclusiveness and diversity in the community."

Today, Rana Voksenopplæring (RAVO, "Rana Adult Education") went out to a lunch concert at Ytteren Kirke - and had a great time! Concerts and other free activities are often held at churches all over the city.

At RAVO, they offer both primary/secondary and language education for international students. We come from all over the world and, in my class, all learn Norwegian together to prepare for the dreaded norskprøve (Norwegian language test). That's me, Alison (USA) with my classmates Roya (Iran) and Johanna (Germany).

Our next board member is Yasna! What does she have to say about MINT?

"MINT is an organization that is composed by internationals and locals. MINT is taking an active role in the onboarding of newcomers in Mo i Rana and looking for new activities and projects. It’s a great way to connect with new people, new culture, and most importantly new ideas! Being new in a city can be challenging. MINT is working on supporting newcomers but also opening the door for everyone to take part of their new (or not) society."

Up next on our committee is Martin! Why is MINT important to him?

"MINT is the chance for me to work on details that can improve the life of foreigners but also locals, is the chance we have to bring new ideas, collaborate and build something new together. MINT can make us build a friendship and healthy community where all of us can feel supported."

Keep an eye out for all of the things we have planned!

Meet Julia! When asked why MINT was important to her, this was what she said:

"Organisations like MINT are very important to ensure that we accelerate the internationalization of Mo i Rana. There is already a large number people living in Mo i Rana who represent different cultures and do not necessarily speak Norwegian yet - myself included! Hosting events, providing information, and connecting internationals and locals are all important topics that MINT works on."

We wanted to introduce ourselves to you! My name is Alison and I'm the interim head of the MINT steering committee. I asked my committee members why MINT is important to them and we'll be sharing those answers over the next few weeks. As always, if you'd like to join us, we'd love to have you - send us a message here.

"MINT is important to me because I want to help everyone feel at home here in Mo. My transition period has been hard and I want it to be easier for everyone who comes after me. Everyone deserves a soft landing and, for me, MINT is my way to do that for all internationals who make their way to Mo i Rana."
