THE ARCTIC ICE FESTIVAL 2023 WAS A BLAST 💥‼️🤙
Huge thanks 🙏 to all the participants that came from all over the 🌎 to share the stoke for ice climbing and ski mountaineering with us 🤙- to all those folks that joined the Kick Off in Narvik, all the speakers, who made the evenings awesome and our partner in Narvik VisitNarvik ‼️
Big kudos to the team Tanja Schmitt, Heike Schmitt, Jeff Mercier , Tommaso Cardelli and Matthias Schererfor bringing safety during the clinics to a 🔝 level !
Of course lots of love to Tor Lyngmo and the whole team of Fjellkysten Gjestehus - FJELLKYSTEN was again the perfect base camp for the festival 👏!

We are super stoked to announce 📣 the coming of Chris Davenport to the Arctic Ice Festival 2023‼️

Two-time World Champion skier Chris Davenport is widely regarded as one of the premier big mountain skiers of the last thirty years. Among his many competitive and ski mountaineering achievements, in 2007 Chris became the first person to ski all fifty-four of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks in less than one year. He is an ESPN X-Games medalist, five-time Powder Award winner, and winner of the 24 Hours of Aspen World Endurance Skiing Champs. He has numerous first descents of peaks around the globe under his belt, and has guided and skied on many of the World’s highest peaks, including Denali and Mt. Everest.

Chris will be present for the whole duration of the Arctic Ice Festival - meet him Fjellkysten Gjestehus or at the Kick off event in Narvik 🤙

We are very proud to announce the coming of Børge Ousland to the Arctic Ice Festival 2023.
Børge is going to have a presentation on Friday the 17th February 2023 in Narvik at the Lokstallen during the Kick off event starting at 18:30.

Title of his presentation: Crossing the North Pole in the dark

In August 2019 Mike Horn and Børge Ousland set off from Nome in Alaska on the sailing ship Pangaea. The aim of the expedition was to sail into the Polar Ocean, ski across the North Pole and sail out. In September they got dropped off at the ice edge and started skiing north and into the darkest of winter. For nearly three months, most of it with headlamps, the two explorers were fighting for survival before they finally reached their goal on the other side on their very last day of food.

With solo expeditions to both the South and North Poles and solo crossings of both the Antarctic and the Arctic from coasts to coasts, Børge Ousland is established as one of the leading polar explorers of our time. His latest expedition “Across the North Pole in the dark” has been described as «The boldest polar expedition of modern times» by National Geographic.
