Information for visa applicants regarding COVID-19:
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to reopen our full visa operations and facilitate travel between the United States and Nepal in a manner that is safe for both our applicants and our staff. Immigrant Visas
Our consular section is processing a limited number of Immigrant Visas, including those for immediate relatives and fiancés of U.S. citizens, Returning Residents, and others as capacity allows.
Presidential Proclamation (P.P.) 10014, entitled “Suspension of Entry of Immigrants Who Present a Risk to the United States Labor Market During the Economic Recovery Following the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak,” was rescinded on February 24, 2021. Nonimmigrant Visas
The consular section is processing nonimmigrant visas in the below limited circumstances:
B1/B2 visas that can be renewed without an interview (please see the eligibility criteria and instructions here);
A limited number of C1/D appointments for air and sea crewmembers;
A limited number of F, M, and J student and exchange visitor visas;
A limited number of H and L petition-based work visas; and
Other nonimmigrant visas in very limited medical or other emergency situations.
We do not yet know when we will be able to further resume routine visa services and open additional visa appointments. As soon as it is determined safe to return to regular visa processing, we will do so.
For nonimmigrant visa applicants, the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was
