Relief fund for Earthquake victims in Nepal

we have completed our first phase of relief program and during this process we received many help. we just want to acknowledge the trust and support they have bestowed on us by casting our vot e of thanks...

1. Supriya Rai (fantastic nepal holidays) for providing us vehicle to deliver our supplies at gorkha district without taking vehicle charges. Thanks to Yogain Rai for connecting us to them.

2. Poojan Shrestha, Monish Manandhar, Pawan Adhikari, Binesh Tuladhar, Rohan Limbu Wane, Bijay Dawadi, Prabesh rimal and Bebina maharjan for providing us medical supplies

3. Ujjawal kabra and Amrita gautam for providing us exceptionally enough medical assistance for the 1st phase delivery. Perhaps this stock will also last till our 2nd phase.

4. Ravi shrestha and Dhiraj shrestha( 3 ink advertisement agency) for providing us tripaals and tents from jhapa time and again, when even tripaals and tents were either so scarce in kathmandu, or had so much price hikes. Thanks for taking out time to find those out for us in so huge quantity at short notice and delivering it to us at wholesale prices.

In light of the recent earthquake in Nepal, our team is trying to raise funds for the relief efforts in the disaster struck areas. Our team members have in the last few days been part of some relief efforts organized by individuals and associations. We have also been talking to other organizations in the aid efforts in affected vulnerable areas. Two things we noticed:
1) There is an acute shortage of vehicles/helicopters for aid dispatches and rescue.
2) There is need for organizational support regarding the same.

With our background in logistics management (we work in travel/event/destination management), we plan on addressing this issue by
1) Tapping into our network of transport providers and facilitating the individual and organizational rescue and relief efforts.

2) Tapping into resources as yet unmobilized - private 4-wheelers and vans of our friends and families for the same.

DirtTRI Weekend Race Roundup

Not only was the race significant in that it brought off-road triathlon to a new and developing region, but it just looks awesome. Yeah, sure it was a breathtaking course nestled at the foot of the massive Himalaya. But, more importantly (ok, maybe not) the race producers really knew what they were doing by offering not only an amazing course, but sponored beer at the finish and perhaps the coolest race awards we’ve ever seen in the form of mini Khukuri knives.

We at dirtTRI are working on a more intriguing format for our Weekend Race Roundup. We realize many of you will follow XTERRA’s excellent race reports ...
