✨How long do we need to plan our wedding?

Budget and availability can be a big factor in wedding planning and can dictate how far away from now to your special day. Sometimes to ensure that you get your perfect venue and vendors you need to be looking to book your wedding day 12 – 18 months in advance. But it doesn’t have to be that way for all weddings, if you get the things that are non-negotiable for you, such as your perfect venue, much shorter timeframes are very achievable.

Maybe the adage that if everything clicks into place straight away, it is meant to be, is true, or as one of our couples so beautifully said -

At Mt Vernon Lodge, we offer micro and special customised packages for weddings for 6 – 20 people.

Not all weddings are the same and even with our expansive grounds and facilities we can make your special day intimate and beautiful for even the smallest of wedding parties.

The blossom on the pear trees looks beautiful for our first wedding of the season! Despite the threat of possibly having a rainy day, it has held off in true spring fashion and everything looks perfect.

As a new year begins, we reflect on the year that has been.
2023 has been a busy year here at Mt Vernon Lodge, a time for milestones; we hosted our 200th wedding this year; and a time for reflection, we have been here for 8 years and how much we and the Lodge has changed over this time - we have grown and learned a lot!

We thank all our couples, guests from all walks of life, our fabulous staff, and our families for how you have helped and supported us during the year.

We look forward with excitement to 2024 and its new challenges.

Lately we have seen a new trend; either arching, not having an arch or choosing a more minimalist way to mark the alter for the wedding ceremony. With the beautiful harbour back drop you have so many choices, whether you choose a formal arch with beautiful florals and draping, fantastic statement pieces, or even just let the view speak for itself!
