Another stunning afternoon at Mt Vernon, this time with a bit of a twist!
The joining of two cultures - when I met with Mickey and Toby it was clear that their ceremony was to include both their Kiwi and Vietnamese cultures. We had a small tea ceremony to begin, the purpose being for Toby to ask Mickey’s family for her hand in marriage and celebrate the union of their two families while honouring their parents, family, and ancestors.
We then had myself reading the English version of their ceremony and Mickey's friend Huy reading the Vietnamese translation so both families were able to understand and be a part of their day.
Such a special, special day and an absolute pleasure to be able to bring together for this lovely couple.

"In the past, the colour black was perceived as a grim colour and was associated with evil omens, darkness, and death.

But in today’s world, such superstitions have diminished, leaving black as one of the most popular colours for celebrations, festivities, and of course, weddings. Brides who opt for these gorgeous, inky dresses are showing confidence, independence, strength, devotion, elegance and loyalty. And so for Kath to choose this colour today is to show to Walter, her devotion and loyalty to him and for all the days to come."

What an incredible moment to see Walt's stunning bride walking up the aisle in her black gown - the perfect day surrounded by their beautiful family and friends 🖤

This right here is why I do what I do, a gorgeous day at Okains Bay Church with Kate and Bobby. I always give my couples a heads up that often your fingers swell and putting the ring on the finger can be a bit of a struggle, this here is Bobby concentrating so hard to get the ring on that he said the wrong lines! 17 years ago The Mike and I had a the same issue which created a very similar photo! 🤣
A beautiful wedding of laughter and love ❤️

ELOPING IN PARADISE
On Friday I had the pleasure to head up to Te Wepu Intrepid Pod Retreats to officiate the marriage of this gorgeous couple, Kirstie and Chris.
A short and sweet ceremony filled with joy, tears and just the right amount of laughter.
Congratulations to you both, thank you so much for choosing me to be your celebrant, this photo captures our time together perfectly - a gorgeous couple completely in love, laughter, beautiful views and my leg warmers.... 🤣

3 years ago I embarked on what I truly believe is my calling in life - being a Marriage Celebrant.
22 married couples later, I have officiated friends, family, friends of friends and perfect strangers. There have been butterfly releases, candle lighting, binding of hands, Lord of the Rings themes, Metallica, dogs, small children, a surprise wedding and even a ring in a cricket ball bowled up the aisle! I remember each wedding like it was yesterday and fondly call each couple now my friends.
I am one lucky lady to have found my passion and am so excited to continue this into the future.
Happy 3rd Anniversary Caitlin and Nik! Thank you for choosing me, fresh out of Celebrant School to officiate your incredible day 💕💕

As I sit out on our deck enjoying the glorious weather today, finalising some weddings for this season I am transported back to a cold, rainy day in July where Jess and Simon exchanged their vows and were married - although the weather was cold, our hearts were warm and full of love for these two - they headed off 2 weeks later to beautiful Thailand for a second wedding with their family and friends from overseas.
Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Moon for choosing me for your day, it was so wonderful to get to know you both and of course your fur baby, Branston.

And just like that the wedding season begins again!
I am so excited for this season where some of my couples include my hairdresser, an old school friend's little sister (last saw her when she was 5 years old!), parents from my children's school and a fellow celebrant who I trained with just to name a few!
How lucky am I to be doing what I love 💕💕

MR AND MRS TYLEE
24 November 2018
Georgie and George celebrated their wedding day in the backyard of Georgie's parents home - the gardens were absolutely immaculate and the views were breathtaking.
Georgie and George's ring bearers were their Grandfathers, Neil and Michael which was such a beautiful moment to see them both so proud and honoured to have such an important part in their Grandchildren's ceremony.
This truly was such a family inspired affair where the joining of families was a natural and memorable moment.
Thank you so much to The Georges for choosing me to be your celebrant, I had such a fabulous time getting to know you both and your story xx

Mr and Mrs Gräfen
Le Bons Bay, 19th February 2019
Oh what an incredible afternoon, an intimate wedding on the beach that Florian and Florence originally traveled to years before and returned to become Mr and Mrs Gräfen.
The clouds formed overhead, the wind kicked in and at the moment we began their ceremony - they blew away to show the beautiful blue sky.
Congratulations to you both and gorgeous wee Liana - I wish you every joy the world has to offer ###
