A couple of weeks ago, we managed to sneak off for a much needed weekend away. We stayed at Hurunui Jacks and was absolutely amazed at the peaceful tranquility that this Glamping site offered.
A 5-10 minute walk to the camp site from the homestead where you park your car transports you to a secluded, isolated sanctuary where the only noises you hear are the birds calling in the trees, and the burbling of the Kaneri River running beside the camp site.
Everything at the campsite has been designed with optimum relaxation in mind. From the tent, complete with a fire for cool nights, a luxerously comfy bed, to a beautiful leather couch to sit and just watch out the tent opening to watch nature do what nature does best.
If that doesn't sound relaxing enough, there is also an outdoor bath tucked in behind the tent and kitchen/shower hut, where you can lie in a warm, gas heated bath, and watch the night stars play across the sky with Keas calling out along the ridgeline over the river.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time away, the hosts Wendy & Fletch being friendly, informative, & respectful of your privacy. The only minor downside was, as usual Annette being a tasty buffet for all the mosquitos and sandflies within a 200m radius of her presence, even through clothes!
We cannot reccomend this experience enough, and hope to get back there again someday soon to recharge our batteries with a healthy dose of nature & luxury.

Last year we travelled with our local photography group down to the Maniototo Region with Kevin Clarke as our scout and mentor. This is a region which we absolutley adored and need to return to.
This is an image we have finally finished processing.

A bright and cheerful birthday bunch headed out this week. I will be at the Ashburton Farmers Market this weekend with stunning sunflowers and lillies and other goodies to fill up those vases! 9-12 come by and check it out.

I picked this Lovely bunch of Matricaria, a flower of the chamomile family to add to my bouquets.
It's growing prolificly in my garden.

This Bull has a story or two to tell with his strong stare and scar across his nose. I was captivated by the way he stood his ground and observed my intentions of taking his picture.
