Because you've spent so much time envisioning, collecting, crafting and assembling all the little items to create your dream wedding day décor, it would be a shame to have some left behind, forgotten or not placed where you had planned.
Whether you are there or not on the setup day, having your décor items organised in bins/boxes, clearly labelled and all listed will make this day a whole lot easier for all involved. Bonus point if you can attach photos/drawings of your vision for each item/area (eg. centrepieces, gift table...)

There can be a lot of expectations around a wedding day. Not only yours (you and spouse to be), but also from family members, wedding party and even guests.
The best way to manage those? Communicate.
Have the money talk with your spouse to be and/or parents/family members who contribute to the day.
Let your nearest and dearest know what being part of the wedding party will involve.
Let your guests know if you decide not to have kids on your big day, or no plus ones...

Because there is so much to plan for the big day, it is easy to forget about the "after".
Here are a few things you may want to allocate some planning time to, so that it doesn't end up in that "I'll deal with that later" pile: Packing - if leaving for your honeymoon right after the reception (or even in the next couple of days), make sure that your essentials are packed and ready to go. Gifts and Thank you cards - you can absolutely prepare a thank you card template and fill them in as you open you cards and gifts. If leaving for your honeymoon right after the wedding, remember to put someone on gifts and cards duty (collecting/storing) Dress cleaning - doing your research ahead of time, based on the style and fabric of your dress to avoid leaving to a month or two later (when stains may be harder to remove) Flowers - if planning on [reserving your flowers, make sure that you have selected the style of preservation and know how to store them until you can send them off for preservation Décor - If planning to sell some decor items after the big day, take photos of them and decide on price before the day. This way, once the big day is done all you need to do is post your prepared listings.

A few questions I often come across are How much time do I need to allocate to getting ready? How long will the first look take? What time should I put on invites if we start getting ready at...?
Simple answer is... there is no perfect answer!
It all depends on the types of services you have booked with your vendors and how each of them works.
So the best way to work out your day of timeline is to ask your vendors how much time they need to perform their services.

There are multiple ways you can make your ceremony a bit different and very personal. Think: skipping traditions that do not speak to you, or creating your own traditions, including family, friends, your kids through readings, rituals… o even including your pets (my husband and I had our dog as our ring bearer 😊).
Choose music, songs, readings… that speak to you, have a meaning in your relationship and of course, write your own vows… best way to see your friends and family tear up a little during the ceremony.
And finally, find a celebrant that matches your personalities. Your celebrant will be the person conducting the ceremony, setting the tone from welcoming your guests to the pronouncement.

As soon as you start doing some research on wedding planning, you will most certainly get bombarded with the latest wedding trends. Now don't get me wrong, this can be a great way to point your research and planning into a specific direction.
However, and this is particularly true if your wedding day is quite a while away, remember that trends come and go.
The most important is to make sure that whatever decision you make regarding your big day is primarily based on what suits you/ represents you.
Do not rush into a colour palette or a specific decor trend just yet... see what's out there, test your own taste and trust your gut.

They also be used for a more budget friendly bar option: pre-mix a cocktail of your choice and let guests help themselves.

Make sure to have a contact list handy the day before (for set up) and on the day of your wedding.
This contact list should not only have the details for your vendors; make sure that you have the contact details of the person(s) who will be performing the service(s) on the day (eg. if going through a company with several employees, or for cake/ flowers delivery...); but you should also include anyone close to you / who have a role to play on the day. That is your bridal party, parents or close family members, parents of the flower girl, ring bearer...
If you do not have a coordinator for the day, make sure that more than one person has access to this list.

That's right... disco is coming back into fashion when it comes to wedding decor!
A large central disco ball, or tiny ones scattered throughout your venue, great lighting for your dancefloor, ribbons or fringe curtains as your photobooth background... there are many ways to incorporate the fun from the 70s!

A great way to personalize your reception is by thinking outside the box with your guest book.
There are so many options to choose from: polaroids, puzzle pieces, video guest books (talk to your videographer to see if they can offer this service) or an audio guestbook.
