St Margarets Garden Cafe & Bistro is located in a stunning beautiful private garden in Karaka, Auckland.

The venue is licensed and perfect for all kinds of functions, parties and weddings.

Exclusive functions/ parties package:

1. Exclusive venue hire is from $500 for four hours and 30 people. Lunch session is 10:00am-2:00pm, and dinner session is 4:00pm-8:00pm. The time and number of people can be added.There is an extra cost of $100 per extra hour, and $5 extra per extra person (babies under 2 are not counted) ;

2. Venue hire includes all entertaining facilities such as Karaoke, table tennis, lawn games, kids toys, garden visiting, etc. The optional bouncy castle cost $200 rent extra.

3. Venue hire includes table and chairs, lighting, PA system, etc.

4. Venue hire also includes basic set up, basic service, end cleaning. If customers need extra FOH waiters then there is an extra cost of $25 per hour per staff.

5. We ask a minimum spend of $780 on top of venue hire, which can be either a bar tab or order food from our function menu or just one whole charcoal spit lamb/pork belly.

6. Free BYO food/drink and self catering in the backyard are allowed after minimum spend is satisfied and there is no surcharge. Please also bring own disposal plates, bowels, cutlery, cups and napkins.

7. If need to hire the cafe kitchen to do self catering then extra $400 for the whole session;

Exclusive Wedding package :

8. $1800 for a half day venue hire from 4:00pm to 11:00pm, no matter number of people;

9. $2500 for a whole day venue hire from 8:00am to 11:00pm, no matter number of people;

10. Full menu and drink list are available, and $60 pp minimum spend on food and drink is required for weekend bookings. There is no minimum spend requirement for weekdays weddings;

11. Extra FOH staff service: $25 per hour per staff;

12. Partial or total self catering and BYO food/drink are allowed.

About us

St Margaret Cafe and bistro is now looking for an experienced full time Chef who is keen to join our team. Our restaurant offers breakfast and lunch in mixture of traditional kiwi and Italian style cuisine. We also do delicate English high tea and weddings/functions set menu.

Qualifications & experience

Breakfast and short-order cooking skills, with a high standard of presentation and flavor.
Baking skills for Italian bakery.
Comprehensive cooking skills for all common meat, especially lamb.
Reliable , organized, quick response, and the ability to Multi-task with a calm head under pressure.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
High personal presentation , good time management, with the ability to work in an organized manner.
Knowledge of relevant legislative regulations, must have NZQA certificates
An understanding of kitchen costs and inventory.
Good understanding about HACCP plan and able to follow it
Tasks & responsibilities

Cook to order from our breakfast and lunch menu.
Preparation for daily menu and function menu.
Produce and maintain quality offerings for customer.
Manage your daily and weekly ordering, with stock rotation.
Create seasonal menu according ingredient availability to minimize food cost, able to create special menu for holidays and festivals.
Maintain kitchen to meet legislative regulations in this hospitality.
General kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties.
Be hard working, motivated and passionate about your food.
