🏆 St. Peter’s 7-a-Side Mixed League – Wednesday Finals Recap! ⚽🎉

After weeks of blood (minor scrapes), sweat (so much sweat), and tears (mainly over missed sitters), the Wednesday Night Competition Finals has wrapped up. with four epic divisions all with their own traits ....

Division 1 – The Big Dogs 🐶

A battle for the ages, featuring fancy footwork, last-minute heroics, and one player who forgot which way they were attacking with MVP's being players who ran nonstop like their life depended on it.

Division 2 – The “Almost There” Squad ⚖️

Tightly contested, with more drama than a reality TV show. This division saw questionable defending, outrageous long shots, and at least three cries of “Ref! Are you blind?!

Division 3 – Social but Competitive (Emphasis on Social 🍻)

Less about tactics, more about having a good time – but still surprisingly competitive. There were moments of brilliance, moments of madness, with a number of stunning goals that may or may not have been intentional. 😳

Division 4 – Here for a Good Time, not a Long Time 🎉

The vibes division, where everyone’s a winner (but only one team actually wins). This division featured a record number of nutmegs, sideline heckling, and some goalkeepers who forgot they could use their hands. 😄

Last night’s 5-a-side finals had everything: drama, stepovers, fall overs and at least one player realizing they are not as fast as they were in 2012.

The championship match ended in a thrilling fashion, with one team winning and the other saying, “Yeah, but we had more possession.”

Post-match interviews revealed some solid analysis:
