After our wedding ceremony, we went and had a coffee with our bridal party at our friend (and photographer’s!) café on Karangahape Road. It was SUCH a good moment to pause, regroup, refuel, and just have a bit of calm in amongst the busy-ness of a wedding day! I was so glad we deliberately took time to chill, especially with the people in our bridal party who we had very deliberately chosen to be there with us. I always recommend that couples find or carve out time into their timeline to ensure that there are moments to take it all in and breathe. And to just be excited that you’re here getting married! S O M E N E W S // I’ve been breaking a cardinal wedding rule and sneaking an uninvited plus one into my recent weddings!! We are very excited to be welcoming our second pēpi into the whānau sometime before the end of the year. If you have noticed that I have closed my bookings from December - June, this little creature is why! I have been in touch with anyone whose wedding is affected by this life update (special shout out to who has stepped up for quite a few couples!!) I am really sad to be missing wedding season this year, but will be looking forward to getting back into it in Summer 2025! 🕺🏼🪩✨🫶🏻🤍🥂

L E I N A & J O N // 2024 started strong with a beautiful Bracu wedding! Leina & Jon are just the loveliest couple. As individuals and as a couple they exude fun and joy and kindness and humour. So it’s no surprise their wedding felt full of all those feelings! It was such a delight to get to know L&J and create a wedding that captured their story and love. Leina was even a good sport when I snuck a D&D reference into the ceremony as an ode to Jon and his mates!! Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Webb! 🕺🏼🤍✨🪩🥂

2024 couples, it’s your wedding year!!!!

The first of January is such a special day for my husband and I because Andrew proposed on 01.01.17! It’s always such a beautiful way to start the new year, reminiscing on our freshly engaged selves and how far we have come.

Proposal stories are always my favourite part of the first time I meet with a couple (and I love that no proposal goes perfectly, there’s always something that goes wrong). I love hearing both perspectives of the story, and hearing alllllll the little details that give me insight to your relationship!

You may feel sick of telling your proposal story, but I’ll never get sick of hearing them!!

A S T O N & J A Y D A I N // I knew from the moment I met these two that they created home everywhere they went, and their wedding was a total testament to that. From being welcomed to their rehearsal by the whānau with open arms and a cold bevvie, to experiencing all the love and emotion of this twenty year love story, this wedding was an honour to be a part of. It was a community event from all of us walking down to the beach together as a group, right through to the cheers at the end as A&J were pronounced Mr & Mrs! I felt so lucky to have played a small part in their formalisation of their two decade love story. Aroha nui nui nui 🤍

O U T O F O F F I C E // after completing my post-graduate diploma, my wee whānau have popped over to Fiji for 10 days of sun and relaxation! (Or as much relaxation as can happen with an almost-two year old!) I still have access to my emails, but will be a liiiiittle slower to respond than usual. Please be patient! D A N I E L L E & M A T T H E W // if you look up the definition of “chill” in the dictionary, I think you’ll find a picture of Dani & Matthew! These two had the most beautiful wedding at a private family residence in Whangamatā. Surrounded by lush green bush and tui calls, Dani and Matthew promised each other forever. I absolutely loved getting to know these two, their whānau, and friends. What a total joy to be a part of their story! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Liddle ###

A PRACTICE RUN // The same way that an engagement shoot is a really great way to get the nerves of being in front of a camera out before your wedding day, so is a wedding rehearsal! Some people may think that a rehearsal isn’t necessary, but it is a fantastic way of making sure that everyone knows the details of where to stand, what to say, how to make the ceremony flow etc. it also helps keep those jitters at bay and gives us a final chance to make sure you’re totally happy with the ceremony! 🤍

IT’S IN THE DETAILS // one of my favourite things about wedding ceremonies is that the legal bit is pretty short, meaning you can make your ceremony exactly what you want it to be! For us, we made each other a cup of peppermint tea after we had signed the register. We wanted our first act as a married couple to be one of service to each other, but also something that was a part of our daily relationship existence. We saw ourselves after 50 years of marriage still making each other tea every day. So, a cup of lovely peppermint tea it was! I can’t wait to facilitate small moments like this for you on your special day! 🫖🤍

Something I’ve been dreaming of for a long time, and working on behind the scenes for a little while.. I’ve only gone and become a wedding/civil union celebrant!!

I have always loved weddings, the wedding space, peoples’ love stories, and people in general. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to create/facilitate ceremonies that reflect the couples at the heart of them!

Richard & Caitlyn had the best weather Tāmaki Makaurau can offer on Thursday. A small group of their family and friends gathered under the archway that Richard made himself, and we watched as they promised each other forever. R&C are a couple who have grown and evolved together in the most incredible way! Their future together is bright and full of laughter. When my job intersects with people I love // Last year whilst studying post grad via distance learning I got popped into a group project with Amber. We immediately clicked and she has quickly become one of my most treasured friends. Because we were studying online, we had never met in person. Then about 6 weeks ago she said “I wish you could just come and MC the wedding” and I said “well hang on a second….” and the rest is history. Being able to give my friend a snuggle in person and watch her marry her Michael was just a delight. So much love for the Holdoms and the life they have created. 🕺🏼🪩✨🤍🥂
