Do you know that there are more than 3000 varieties of tulips? We associate this flower with the Netherlands now and they are indeed the largest producer and exporter of tulips. However, tulips re not natives there, they were brought from Turkey in the 16th century, but their homeland is Persia ( modern day Iran).
