❤ There are many items that are important in wedding planning, but if I had to narrow it down to the most essential, I would say:

💰 Budget: Establishing a budget is essential in wedding planning. Without a budget, it can be difficult to prioritize expenses and make important decisions. Determine how much you're able and willing to spend, and allocate funds accordingly.

⏳️ Timeline: Creating a timeline for your wedding planning is essential to ensure that you're able to accomplish everything you need to before the big day. This includes booking vendors, purchasing attire, and finalising details. A timeline will help you stay on track and avoid last-minute stress.

👫 Guest list: The guest list is a critical element in wedding planning, as it will determine the size of your wedding and impact many other decisions. Before making any other decisions, establish your guest list to ensure that you're able to create a budget and select a venue that can accommodate the number of guests you plan to invite.

💍 While there are many other items that are important in wedding planning, including choosing vendors, selecting a venue, and designing the wedding decor, these three elements are foundational and will guide many other decisions throughout the planning process.

You might think it's hard to add colour accents to your wedding decor - not at all. Key here though is do not overdo it (often less is better) and do not mix opposite colours.
I'm not a stylist or an expert, not at all. I'm only learning from my talented industry colleagues. But I do have some suggestions for you which you might find helpful.
So, you may:
- start from adding this colour to your invites
- opt for other coloured napkins (instead of your traditional white)
- add certain coloured candle holders or tube vases
- get table numbers of your chosen colour (better of the same style as your welcome sign and seating plan)
- throw shiffon coloured table runner (looks great on a table itself, without a tablecloth) or a tablecloth
- order other chairs (some vendors have blush pink chairs)
- get cutlery or glassware of your accent colour
There are other ways how do add colour accents but these are the ones I often use.

❓️Frequently Asked Questions:❓️
1. Do you help with set up and pack down too? - I perform any tasks on the day which fall within the amount of hours I'm hired for. Although not often I do pack downs because it's either happening the next day and the couple is OK to do it by themselves, or I'm simply not required.
2. Do you travel outside of Auckland? - I surely do. It involves travel and accommodation costs though. Sometimes up to 3 nights.
3. Do you also offer styling services? - I'm not a stylist in a nut shell, and prefer to concentrate on what I'm good at AKA bringing my clients' vision to reality by bringing on board all required specialists who are good at their fields. I can provide general styling guidance by all means, and leave those finer decor details/discussions to the appropriate vendors. I also don't have decor items for hire.
4. What's the min hours can we hire you for, as the day coordinator? - 8h. You may hire me for less but you'll need to pay for 8h still.
5. Can you pick up our wedding cake? - yes I can and I've done it several times already. However I personally think it's better to delegate this task to the baker/caker. My car isn't really designed to transport wedding cakes and I often work by myself so no one really can hold a cake box on the passenger seat.

WHAT CAN GO WRONG ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
In a short answer - anything (not a very helpful answer, right 🙂). The question you should ask yourself is how well prepared you are to accept/deal with these changes? Are you flexible enough also to go with a flow and adapt to plans B and C?
All in all though, here is the list of some examples of what can happen. (Sorry for talking about real stuff here):
1. Rain/storm
2. Vendors are running late
3. Electricity is cut off
4. That order from Etsy arrives after your wedding day
5. Zips are broken right before walking down the isle
6. Cake isn't baked through
7. DJ plays wrong song for your 1st dance
8. Your venue got double booked
9. Not enough food for all guests
10. Celebrant got tested positive in the morning of your wedding day
So, how to be prepared for it all? 😶 - choose trusted vendors, allow time for unexpected, talk to former brides, learn to let go, get help, prepare emergency day kit, plan in advance and set your priorities - if you do all of these, I can guarantee you'll welcome unexpected things with a smile 🙂.

Weddings on open canvas require extra special preps. It's not a "venue that ticks all boxes". ✅ You have to literally built and create everything from the scratch. I'm hoping the below tips will help you in your beautiful outside/backyard/farm wedding planning:

- always have a Plan B in case of a bad weather
- sound travels faster outside hence it's good for your celebrant (or MC for reception) to have a mic to avoid "It was a beautiful ceremony but I didn't hear anything" situation.
- if you choose to use marquee, make sure it can handle "an emergency situation". Will it stand firm in severe wind? How about storm?
- in summer, prepare sunblock, mosquitoes spray and some sort of shade/sun protection for your guests (umbrellas or hats)
- blankets or heaters are musts
- lightning. Festoon lights are amazing. But you also might need to have a torch
- prepare first aid kit
- have plenty of rubbish bins
