The music is uniquely Scottish, and Clan Celtica is the only band of this genre in the southern hemisphere, originating from the days before military
pipe bands we know so well today were formed. The sound is best described as an exciting mix of the Great Highland Bagpipes weaving emotive Celtic melodies alongside pulsating dynamic drum beats, both slow to fast. The almost eerie hypnotic atmospheric performance includes original tunes and rearrangements of well known Scottish theme compositions from movie soundtracks, such as ‘Braveheart’ and ‘Rob Roy’. Voted International Celtic Artist Of The Year 2016 by Australian Music Awards. Debut Album ‘Tribal Thunder’ Top 10 Official New Zealand Charts, Jan 2019. A world first for a pipes & drum band to chart in a national official records Charts ! Gigs to dates have been a variety of music festivals, highland games and TV performances such as Sky Sports (King of the Ring) and The Paul Henry Show (TV3), whereby audiences have been thrilled and keen to see them again. The calendar is filling up fast with performances booked for more New Zealand Highland Games, Celtic festivals and dates in Australia. The band is keen to support corporate events and wedding features. Set Length is flexible from 1 to 8 tunes lasting between 3 to 40 minutes.
