Paint the Earth is a retail store where you can paint your own ceramics. It's a great social activity – you can chat while you paint or enjoy individual time-out while creating a unique ceramic piece. All instruction, paints, design ideas and painting tools are supplied so you can relax back and enjoy creating. You leave your work of art with us to glaze and fire ready for you to collect in 4-5 da

ys. Certainly not! We have people of all ages who love to come and paint. We have stencils, designs to trace, shaped sponges and design books to give you ideas on what to paint on your ceramic piece. When can we take the painted ceramic piece home? The firing process takes about 5 days during which time:
The piece is left to dry over-night
It is glazed and left to dry again
The glaze is then hand finished and the piece loaded into the kiln
The firing is a 24 hour cycle by the time the kiln reaches it's full heat and then cooled slowly (for best results);
The piece is then unloaded from the kiln and checked for any cracks or abnormalities which are all part of the "nature of ceramics"
Your piece is then matched to the description on your docket and wrapped ready for pick-up.

We opened in Takapuna in September 1998 and were there for 12 years. We then moved to Rosedale where we have been for 15 happy years and many more to come!

OVER THE YEARS we have seen:

- 108 School Holdays
- 297 Public Holidays
- 16 Prime Ministers
- 7 Leap Years

Our studio has grown to 90 seats and we have over 250 different bisque lines and 5 kilns. We have Ladies Night on the last Thursday of the month, Hen Parties and many After Hour functions…

My daughter, mother in law and myself came today for our first session. OMG! We absolutely loved it so much. I have been telling everyone and can't wait to come back again. You were all so lovely and helpful, the facilities were so nice. Even the toilet was cute! We can not wait for the final product. We absolutely will be booking my daughter's birthday party too. You’ll probably recognise Angie her mum who’s on the floor most days at Paint The Earth, her dad Kevin who’s chief Mechanic and checkout our signage on the side of the car and get a photo with this incredible teenager and her racing car and post it below for a special thank you!
