Aotea Centre is a purpose-built performing arts centre, home to New Zealand’s largest tiered auditorium, a unique black box theatre, function rooms, and BOX Cafe and Bar. It hosts a wide variety of activities including key performances by New Zealand Opera and the Royal New Zealand Ballet, live music and is a perfect space for large conventions. Aotea Centre was specifically designed around a collection of beautiful New Zealand artworks by leading contemporary artists.

Please note that the Aotea Centre will be closed from Sat 16 Dec, reopening on Mon 15 Jan.

The Box Office temporarily relocates to The Civic from Mon 18 – Fri 22 Dec. It will be closed Sat 23 Dec – Sun 7 Jan, reopening at The Civic from Mon 8 Jan, and returns to Aotea Centre from Mon 15 Jan.

The Aotea Centre will be closed from Monday 24 to Monday 31 July.

The Aotea Centre Box Office will be open Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 July and will relocate to The Civic Box Office on Thursday 27 until Monday 31 July, reopening at the Aotea Centre Box Office on Tuesday 1 August.

The Terrace is open and operating normal business hours.

Due to the worsening weather conditions and for the safety of our patrons and staff Aotea Centre, Aotea – Te Pokapū will be closed on Monday, 13 and Tuesday, 14 February.

Due to Auckland's extreme weather event on Friday, Renaissance - The Age of Genius is being moved from the Aotea Centre to the main stage at The Civic, Te Civic, reopening Fri 3 Feb and will now run until Sun 19 Feb.

Renaissance - The Age of Genius opened last week, transforming the Hunua Rooms into an immersive exhibition space, showcasing well-known paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries. Direct from Europe, the specialist multimedia projection brings the works to life, offering a different insight into these famous paintings 😲

Experience masterpieces as seen at the Louvre and the Vatican right here in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. 🎟️ bit.ly/3CIG26g

Ngā mihi o te tau hou – Happy New Year!

We are excited to welcome you, your friends, and whānau to our venues for another fantastic year of live shows and new experiences. Aotea Centre is open and our first event of 2023, Renaissance - The Age of Genius, is on NOW! Direct from Europe, this extraordinary exhibition brings to life 500 famous Renaissance masterpieces, projecting them from floor to ceiling to roughly twice human height 😲

Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office on Level 1 if you haven't already booked online. Standard tickets are valid for single entry ANY day of the season. The exhibition is open daily, 10am to 5pm until 29 Jan (last entry at 4:30pm), giving you plenty of options for attendance.
