🌸 Honoured to Host the Pacific Nursing Symposium 2024 at Sorrento in the Park 🌸

We at Sorrento in the Park are incredibly proud to have hosted the Pacific Nursing Symposium 2024, organized in collaboration with Le Va, the Tongan Nurses Association, and the Pacific Nurses Section.

The event opened with inspiring words from Ben Tameifuna, Le Va’s Cultural Lead and Senior Manager for Public Health and Disability, who paid tribute to the senior nurses in attendance. He also highlighted the essential work being done to grow the capacity and capability of the Pasifika Public Health Workforce.

We were honoured to witness thought-provoking discussions led by Sir Colin Tukitonga, Associate Dean Pacific at the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, UOA, and Paul Goulter, CEO of the New Zealand Nursing Organisation. Their insights on leadership and the vital contributions of Pacific nurses to healthcare in Aotearoa were truly inspiring.

It was a privilege to host such an event celebrating the achievements and legacy of Pasifika nurses. We look forward to supporting future initiatives and collaborations in this space.
