Love Out Loud Celebrations - Rebecca Gellatly - Marriage Celebrant NZ Hello and welcome,

I am a registered Independent Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant in New Zealand. I LOVE weddings and I love LOVE! Do you have children?

My passion is working with couples to create a ceremony that is THEIRS! One that they are a part of and encapsulates their relationship and special bond. The good news is I LOVE families too. Having young children myself and having been involved in the world of Playcentre since 2009, I have vast experience working with children and very much strive to involve the whole family in a ceremony as the

whole family starts a new journey together. I look forward to hearing from you to see what MAGIC we can create for your special day. Rebecca Gellatly

BDM Dates for the holiday season:

* Tuesday 24 December 2024 – our office will be closed.
* Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 December 2024 – public holidays.
* Friday 27 December 2024 – our office will be closed.
* Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 December 2024 – weekend days.
* Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 December 2024 – our office will be closed.
* Wednesday 1 January and Thursday 2 January 2025 – public holidays.
* Friday 3 January 2025 – our office will be closed.
* Saturday 4 January and Sunday 5 January 2025 – weekend days.
* Monday 6 January 2025 – our office will reopen.

Our last working day for 2024 will be Friday 20 December 2024.
We will re-open on Monday 6 January 2025.

Noting that the public can only apply 3 working days before their intended date.

2024 Christmas

* Registry marriage and civil union ceremonies cannot occur inclusive of Saturday 21 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025. Exceptions are permitted on the basis of a celebrant’s professional judgment that can be justified later if asked to e.g. fix an error of dates, already promised, family from overseas, deathbed.

* If couples want a licence issued before we close, the last day they should aim to give notice online is Monday 16 December 2024, or the week before would be even better. Would not recommend leaving this to Tuesday as it’s a short week and there’s likely reduced staffing levels. We aim to issue licences on third day but that can take longer sometimes.

* Couples can apply online for a marriage licence over the holidays, but first day we will start checking and issuing licences is 6 January 2025. As there will be a bow wave of applications, if couples intend to get married in that week of 6 January, they should apply for their licence by 16 December 2024, or earlier

Children can be unpredictable at the best of times. Adding them into a wedding ceremony cam bring some of the most heart warming moments 💓 💖 💕

Weddings and civil unions at Alert Level 3

At Alert Level 3, you can get married but the wedding or civil union ceremony must be limited to 10 people. The 10 person limit does not include:

* the person conducting the wedding or civil union
* anyone working at the service — for example, a photographer.

This means you can have a total of 15 people at your wedding or civil union ceremony — 10 guests, including the couple getting married and 5 workers.

You can serve food or drink but guests must be seated to be served.

If you are attending a wedding or civil union, we recommend you:

* keep 2 metres away from people you do not live with
* avoid physical contact with people outside your bubble, including harirū, hongi, kissing and hugging.
*Do not attend a wedding or civil union if you are unwell.

Travel for weddings and civil unions at Alert Level 3
You can travel to attend a wedding or civil union ceremony in the same or neighbouring region within the Alert Level 3 area.

Advice for people planning to get married or form a civil union, people attending a wedding or civil union and venues hosting these events.

As some area of the country are preparing to move down an alert level this week, please be aware:

Areas under Alert Level 3: While weddings can occur, this is under strict conditions. Celebrants and couples must comply with all alert level rules.

Areas under Alert Level 4: Marriages, cannot occur unless all parties including the witnesses and celebrant are in the same bubble (very unlikely). Contact the BDM if you believe you should be an exception.

Remember – marriage licences are valid for three months. If one cannot be used due to the Alert Levels the BDM will issue a full refund to the couple.

What a way to love. Beautiful words!!

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”
Pablo Neruda
